Very happy that they haven't waited years and years to do it, I enjoyed a lot Planet Hulk and World War Hulk.

Will it be a crossover or a saga in the Skaar on-going?

From what I've heard it will primarily be in Skaar's book, but there will be some crossover in other books. And while not a PS tie-in, Skaar has a War of Kings one-shot tie-in in June IIRC.

Can't wait for this series to start. The last couple of issues have been great and really turned this series around.

I'm hoping that this event ties in with the Hulk and would explain Loeb's mess up with the depowering of the Hulk's mind. :frown:

Also hopes that Incredible Hercules and a She-Hulk tie-ins are involved with this event.

The shadowpeople reach maturity very quickly and Skaar's hybrid nature along with Caiera's spirit educating him allowed him to grow up in a real hurry. There was a point where Axeman Bone chopped him up and when he recovered he was much larger so that helped. It's also been theorized that Skaar is his "Hulk" form, and that he has a human-shadow one as well.

I'd love to see this too but I'm not sure how much he'll be allowed to delve into it. Pak did have this to say though from a recent Wizard interview (http://www.wizarduniverse.com/020809nyccpak.html):

Q: Follow up. How much destruction can we expect to see?

PAK: It's fear of total destruction that drives Reed Richards as the Planet Skaar Prologue begins. If Skaar is still channeling the Old Power when he arrives on Earth, and if he's able to awaken Banner's World War Hulk personality, and father and son come to blows... Well, much more than just the eastern seaboard might be at stake.

That alone will make it worth the price of admission.

Also hopes that Incredible Hercules and a She-Hulk tie-ins are involved with this event.
They both will be.

I don't know the answer, but here's how you can figure it out: look up how many copies each issue of Hulk sells.

Keep in mind there's probably a margin of error because of the people who are buying the book while desperately wishing it was completely different.

She-Hulk I know will be involved in the main Skaar series, Herc I'm not sure other than being involved somehow. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a tie-in issue or two in Herc's main book.

I keep wondering if Skaar is gonna stick around to be a permanent of killed off at the end of his story.

I keep picturing a scene where Hulk holds a dying Skaar in his hands, and when his son finally dies.

And then more than just the planet shakes.

It's not really a mess up... just the dumber Hulk has manifested itself since Banner broke free from SHIELD Holding. The smarter, Planet Hulk Hulk went away after he was caught in World War Hulk.

The way people act, you'd think this was the first time Banner ever went through random transformations.

then why buy it?

The book isn't gonna change if it's one of the top selling none event book in the market.

That why I think most of these haters get some kind of perverse pleasure out buying books they hate.

As I have said before in other threads, This is only a 'top selling book' because sales figures for this book are propped up by every issue having several variants

Sales figures are from how many books RETAILERS buy, NOT readers/ fans, so if retailer incentive issues are released, then of course sales are gonna seem higher because retailers want to get the incentive issues and make a big profit on them.
Most Hulk issues have several variants per issue, a lot of completists try to buy all the variants, which in turn gets the retailers to increase their ordering, not because more people are buying the book, but because the ones that are buying are buying the multiple covers as well.

For me, its more obsessive compulsive having to buy every issue for a complete collection thing. Im not that into Hulk. Issues 1-6 wernt awful, but its gotten progressively worse in my opinion. But I have to have this stupid collection, because when the Hulk gets good again Im going to want to collect it and dont want to miss a big chunk of material. Yeah, im crazy like that.

But Im hoping that this event can give the Hulk some needed development instead of smashing, smashing, and a ridiculous plot.

Skaar #9 was one of the first comics I bought this past weekend, my first comic buying I've done in at least 10 years. I really enjoyed the story even though I picked it up in the meat of an event. I thought the Artwork was pretty darn good too. This is one of the many (shudders at the bank account) that I'll be picking up. Solid writing from what I read.

I read all 9 issues, and issue 9 was the only one I enjoyed. Hopefully this rise in quality continues.

Considering that they're publishing a Hulk comic alongside the Skaar comic, I'm not exactly living in fear of that happening.

Well, it's true. For one small example - did you see what he tried to pass as Miek? Any resemblance to the Miek we'd seen Pags & Lopresti draw was entirely coincidental.

HERCULES IS GONNA BE INVOLVED!!!! BLASTED MARVEL!!! Forcing me to buy this series now just for the chance of seeing the sheer awesomeness of Hercules throwing down with Skaar or Hulk. :evilangry:

But with Hercules looking for a way/labor to make up for his mistake of taking Hulks side in WWH. I can totally see why he would get involved with this event.

You have the Monsters: Hulk and Skaar and the slayer of Monsters : Hercules

Include Greg Paks recent love of all THREE of these characters... Omg, Im actually getting giddy with goose bumps. This has potential epic battle writen all over it.

The stage is set, the band is tuned... Time to see who wants to dance.
