Dirty Deeds!

"Dirty Deeds" is a series of threads where a discussion can be held about the morally questionable, or outright evil acts of characters in comics. It might be a discussion about times a hero crossed a moral line they shouldn't have, or a discussion of a villain's most horrific acts in their history, but the premise remains the same.

Where possible, a poll will be included to vote upon said character's "dirtiest deed".

Please do remember that there are no wrong answers, this is all a matter of opinion. Since everyone has a different set of morals, please try and respect differences in people's own beliefs.

We’re up to the forty-seventh edition of Dirty Deeds, and I thought we’d look at the “Black Sheep” of one of the X-Families. He’s best buds with one of the X-Men’s oldest adversaries, and he even raised one of the X-Men’s kids! Here and now, we’re looking into the Dirty Deeds of…

Black Tom Cassidy!!!

So what is Black Tom Cassidy's "Dirtiest Deed"?

- Gambling away his inheritance, and Cassidy Keep in a dice game to his cousin Sean? revealed in Classic X-Men #16)

- Leaving Ireland to become an international gun for hire? revealed in Classic X-Men #16, X-Force (vol. 1) #31)

- Raising Siryn without ever telling Banshee she existed, to be his criminal protégé, without letting her know who her real father was? revealed in Spider-Woman (vol. 1) #37-38 )

-Attempting to murder Banshee and his friends, the X-Men? (Uncanny X-Men #101-103)

- Hiring Arcade to kill the X-Men? (Uncanny X-Men #122)

- Sending Juggernaut to kidnap Madame Web to use her psychic powers to help plan heists? (Amazing Spider-Man #229)

- After Juggernaut was tricked into walking into a cement foundation by Spider-Man, watching him sink into it without trying to save him? (Amazing Spider-Man #230)

- After being given half the Juggernaut’s power by Cain Marko on his birthday, trying to fight him to take the other half? (Marvel Team-Up #150)

- Robbing a bank in Edinburgh while Juggernaut battled the X-Men? (Uncanny X-Men #217-218)

- Staging a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center with Juggernaut, and then destroying it? (X-Force (vol. 1) #4-5, Spider-Man (vol. 1) #16)

- Stealing a briefcase containing clues about Tolliver’s will from Deadpool? (Deadpool: The Circle Chase #1)

- Kidnapping the geneticist, Dr. Killibrew and sending Juggernaut and a team of hired mercenaries to capture Deadpool, dead or alive, to get cell samples from him? (Uncanny X-Men #1-4)

- Using his powers to murder the lawyer who was serving as the caretaker at Cassidy Keep, and taking up residence there? (X-Force (vol. 1) #30-31)

- Using a simulacrum of Mondo, infiltrating and kidnapping all of Generation X, and leaving them stranded in the Pacific near the location of the original Krakoa to spite Banshee? (Generation X #23-25)

- Trying to hunt down and murder Cordelia Frost with Mondo and Juggernaut? (Generation X #60-61)

- Attacking Banshee and Generation X just before Christmas? (Generation X #60-61)

- Accepting a murder-for-hire contract to kill Cyclops on behalf of a man named Ulysses? (Cyclops (vol. 1) #1-2)

- Absorbing the life force of all of the hired staff of Cassidy Keep, killing them, and trying to do the same to Juggernaut and the X-Men? (Uncanny X-Men #411-412)

- Attacking humans at Independence Hall as part of Exodus’ Brotherhood? (X-Men (vol. 2) #161)

- Using vines under his control to crush Sammy Pare, aka Squidboy, killing him? (X-Men (vol. 2) #162)

- Using vines under his control to crush the Academy X four-armed cafeteria chef, Marilyn, killing her? (X-Men (vol. 2) #162)

- Providing a distraction on behalf of Scicluna, in which he taunted the Juggernaut with something that resembled Sammy Pare, so that she could help the Shadow X-Men escape from prison? (New Excalibur #6-7)

He’s been a mutant mercenary, half-tree guy, a part-wielder of the power of Cyttorak, and he’s got a shillelagh and he’s not afraid to use it! Now, vote for what you think is the worst of Black Tom Cassidy’s “Dirty Deeds”!

I decided on the murderous deeds. But of the two? I think the one at Cassidy Keep is dirtiest.

Yeah, it was pretty inhuman. He had the lower levels of the place looking like a charnel house.

His worse deed... being written by Austen and being part of that god awful brotherhood with Exodus, the useless chump.

Taking advantage of a such a kind man is absolutely unforgivable.

Squid boy all the wayy

The worst part of that deed is he killed one of the only good things to come out of Austen's run.

- After being given half the Juggernaut’s power by Cain Marko on his birthday, trying to fight him to take the other half? (Marvel Team-Up #150)

Some would say it qualifies as spousal abuse.

His worse deed... being written by Austen and being part of that god awful brotherhood with Exodus, the useless chump.

It's up there. Having done research for a Brotherhood Month... discussing Exodus' whack-ass attempt at having one... there big coup was killing Squidboy and a cafeteria worker, before getting sucked into Xorn's head. I mean, even Toad's Brotherhood had a longer, more threatening run than that.

darn terrorists! that is definately his worst deed...........

but terrorists caused all our problems:tongue:

You can stop listening to the Bush administration. They've been out of office for like twelve weeks now.

It's creepy that ten years before terrorists from Al Qaeda attacked the WTC in real life, Black Tom and Juggernaut did it in the comics. No doubt.

Very much so. Didn't realize it was 10 years before. Something about milestones like that creeps me out.

- Raising Siryn without ever telling Banshee she existed, to be his criminal protégé, without letting her know who her real father was? revealed in Spider-Woman (vol. 1) #37-38 )

That was pretty bad. Corruption of a child. But he did feel awful about it. And it's been shown that unlike his partner-in-crime, Cain, Tom wouldn't kill an innocent kid.

- After being given half the Juggernaut’s power by Cain Marko on his birthday, trying to fight him to take the other half? (Marvel Team-Up #150)

Tom didn't try to take the other half. He didn't want any of the power at all, for that matter. He was trying to give it back. They fought because Tom confusedly hit Cain which made Cain mad.

Absorbing the life force of all of the hired staff of Cassidy Keep, killing them, and trying to do the same to Juggernaut and the X-Men? (Uncanny X-Men #411-412)

Eh. Tom was being Austenized at the time. That doesn't count.

- Using vines under his control to crush Sammy Pare, aka Squidboy, killing him? (X-Men (vol. 2) #162)

That was an heroic act. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made. Sammy had to die that The Juggernaut may live. The world was made a better place by Tom that day.

Now, vote for what you think is the worst of Black Tom Cassidy’s “Dirty Deeds”!

I'm going to go with the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Especially since he ended up attacking Siryn in the process and could have gotten her killed.
