I'm looking to read some Black Panther. Can anyone tell me where to get started?

I'd fully recommend the two trades written by Christopher Priest that are out. Also, the last 3 issues of the new run hasn't been too bad.

I'd stick to Kirby and Priest. Jack Kirby's run on the short-lived Seventies BP book is collected, I believe, in two volumes. Priest's lengthier and more recent run only has a few collections, but back issues of the rest are definitely recommended.
I appreciate what Don McGregor (and others) were trying to do, but the T'Challa becomes a very different character, with the political clout and willingness to embrace superscience taking a backseat to bare knuckle brawling and general jungle action. Also, I don't think McGregor's stuff has been collected, so if this sounds like the BP you'd rather read about, you have to do back issues.

As far as I can tell the only collections of BP material (excluding Hudlin's run & I have/love Aaron's SI arc) are 2 volumes of Kirby and 2 volumes of Priest?
Are there any other suggestions long-time BP fans have for really gettig a solid picture of his origins? Any specific issues or runs?
Appreciate the feedback, thanks.
Though not stricly a Black Panther book, I though Geoff's Avengers Red Zone trade had some good BP stuff.

Kirby's Panther(Jungle Action and the regular ongoing). Priest's Panther. The three-parter in Marvel Premiere. Some of Hudlin's Panther.
