So i'm thinking of checking my first issue of Youngbloood in years and i'm wondering how the current book is?. Pluses, minuses, overall direction for the book etc, i'm mostly looking for opinions from anybody reading it right now on it thanks in advance.

I only picked up one issue done by Liefeld back in the 90's. I did get the 2 issues that were released by Awesome Comics that were done by Alan Moore & Steve Skroce & I really liked them. I think the new series by Joe Casey & Derec Donovan has been very good but Liefeld will be taking the book over again with #9 so it's a whole new direction for the book.

I haven't been a fan of the art on the current volume of Youngblood, but other than it's a very good series. Casey's take on the characters goes back to the roots of the series, and it works really well. The art isn't bad per se, the backgrounds are there and the characters have the right proportions etc., it just isn't a style that I like.

So far it's a series that I can recommend trying.

I thought the Casey and Donnovon was slowly getting much stronger (especially issue 8) but it looks like Rob is taking over for now since the sales haven't been stellar and the reaction from Rob's fanbase wasn't all that enthusiastic.

I'd be more inclined to give recommendation if Casey and Donnovon continued but since it's becoming a different kind of book now I don't know how it will play out.
