Hey, I've been reading alot of comics lately, but I seemed to have missed alot of Daredevil reading :P I am a big fan of Daredevil, but I haven't really read any of the books lately
(last one was Born Again, which was awesome, I have also read Guardian Devil, which is one of my favorites, I own "The Devil Inside and Out Vol.2, but it didn't really do me justice, since it contained alot of events and elements that I haven't really read or known about. I am currently reading "Lady Bullseye" in hopes of understanding the new "Return of The King" arc), so I was just wondering if anyone could fill me in on what has happened (most important events) between Guardian Devil and Lady Bullseye? I know this is alot of ground to cover, but it would be awesome if someone could just simply tell me :P

some points:
- who has Daredevil had as love interests and what has eventually happened to them (and current love interest)? Last I truely recognize is Karen Page, and that's a long time ago :P
- what's the deal with Kingpin, why was he in Europe and Japan?
- what's Daredevil history with "The Hand"?
- any significant deaths or villains?
+ whatever else one can fill in

Thanks and I hope someone can answer :D

Since "Guardian Devil", he had a brief thing with a woman named Echo (not important for this run), and married a woman named Milla Donovan, who was driven insane by Mr. Fear (if you're reading Lady Bullseye, you're familiar with that).

- what's the deal with Kingpin, why was he in Europe and Japan?
He was jailed for a time, and, as a result of a scheme by Vanessa Fisk (who wanted to spite them both), Daredevil secured his release, but on the condition he give up his citizenship and leave the country.
- what's Daredevil history with "The Hand"?
That actually predates "Guardian Devil"; they were introduced in Frank Miller's original run in the 1980s: they're a clan of ninja-assassins. Daredevil has fought them a lot.

Why did Vanessa Fisk want them both dead?
Who is Dakota North?

Why did Vanessa Fisk want them both dead?
She didn't want them dead, though that was a possibility of her plan; she wanted them to live and continue the cycle of violence between them, each knowing that it was the other's fault (in Matt's case, because he let Kingpin out of jail).

As for why, in Bendis' run, Wilson and Vanessa's son Richard Fisk led a mob coup against Pops (again); Vanessa had to kill him to end it, for which she blamed the Kingpin (and, by extension, Daredevil).

Who is Dakota North?
Private investigator; she became associated with Nelson and Murdock when Matt was in jail and needed an experienced agent on the outside.

ahh, ok, now I get it :D I ask because Daredevil's story is so dense :P
Any recommendations on which Daredevil story arcs/titles I should read ?

Pretty much all of Bendis and Brubaker's stuff gets good press; Brubaker's first arc ("The Devil, Inside and Out" v.1 in trade) is a real classic, featuring Daredevil's handling being in jail.

Yeah, I already got Vol.2 of the arc so it's most likely fitting to get Vol.1 to xD

Read Frank Miller's work, Bendis, and Brubaker. Also Ann Nocenti had a good run as well.

Just get all the DD trades from Guardian Devil on to catch on. It is way to complex to describe easily. Here are answers to some of your questions:

Relationships
Karen is dead---you should know this from Guardian Devil
Black Widow---she was always Booty Call for Matt but has been gone from his life since Bucky took over for Cap
Echo---just a brief flirtation but it did help her get on the Avengers since he vouched for her to Steve Rogers
Milla Donovan---he married her and she is now in a Psych ward for killing a guy with a train while being controlled by Mr. Fear. Now her parents are pushing for divorce and custody and their Lawyer is Lady Bullseye
Dakota North---She was helping Matt with the Milla stuff and he then shagged her but she left him cause she thinks he is to destructive
Foggy---Not a girl but a very important relationship nonetheless. He recently fired Matt from the law firm
Elektra and Typhoid Mary---appear on occasion but norhing going on

Kingpin
Matt beat him so bad he nearly killed him. That sent KP to jail and Matt declared himself as the new Kingpin. Struck a deal with Kingpin while both were in jail to breakout. KP was almost killed by his son's cronies and Echo made him blind. KP's son was killed by Vanessa Fisk and she moved to Europe. Matt broke out of jail and followed the trail and learned that everything was orchestrated by Vanessa who was on her deathbed. Matt represented KP in his trial, as part of a deal with Vanessa, and got KP to be declared innocent but was able to orchestrate KP losing citizenship and being deported. Now KP is back to kill Lady Bullseye, who used The Hand to kill his new girlfriend, and has teamed with Matt to take her down

The Hand
They have been trying to get him for a while. Now he is being targeted by them as they want to kill him and bring him back to life to run The Hand.

Deaths, Villains, Other stuff
Matt is now 100% alone having alienated ALL his friends. The Owl is back. Matt was working with Black Tarantula and White Tiger but they were "killed" by The Hand and are now under their control.

So much more to go over but that is hust off the top of my head.

In all honestly, Daredevil is one of the best 5 Marvel books being published. Even the weaker arcs like Wake Up, Playing To the Camera(not collected in trade) and Echo-Vision Quest are solid. Just get them all. The Bendis/Maleev run is legendary. Bru's stuff is not as good but in his defense Bendis left the book with a lot of loose ends and open plots that Bru has been working with. It was Bru's idea to leave those threads open. Just enjoy the DD ride. It is amazing.

Gonna agree with pretty much everyone else here. All of Bendis' and Brubakers stuff on DD is gold in my opinion, great reads all around.

Private investigator; she became associated with Nelson and Murdock when Matt was in jail and needed an experienced agent on the outside.

She had her own book in the 80's or 90's She is indeed a PI/former model, the daughter of a CIA type guy.

It was a good use of an old character on the scrap heap.

You guys forgot to mention that everyone still thinks Matt is DD, even though the press recanted their story!

It's an embarrassment that they haven't been put into a trade yet.

I'm hoping she stays in the book as a supporting character.

OH Yeah. Did't he also win a 100 mil+ lawsuit against the city or a paper or something? I can't remember which it was but he did win and used the money to help Milla establish shelters and food banks and restore Hell's Kitchen.

OH I don't think she is going to disappear for a while. She is still very much a part of DD's world. We can't forget that Foggy was assisstant DA. Does he still have that title cause I cannot recall?

If we wait longer I am sure Matt will shag Becky Blake as she is the only lady in the book, outside of LB, that Matt hasn't been with. The guy gets more women than the entirety of the Marvel U put together! If his ways could work in the real world all us DD fans could get loads of women! ;)
