FLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMEWORTHY! !!!! Where the HELL have you been?!??!?!!11!

Hey Novaya! I decided to take a break from the boards until there was something interesting happening in the X-books. This preview has definitely piqued my interest.

Well this is certainly the most interesting thing to come of this series thus far, IMHO . . . Of course the 6 page previews always seem to read better than the whole issue themselves (SNAP!) but we'll see. It's got Domino in it so it can't be all bad, right?

And for the record, this is not the first time we've seen this burial ground of Logan's. He visited it in his solo series in the late 90s as well. It's where Amiko's mom is buried, and incidentally Chimera attacked Logan there during one of her first appearances.

The only issue I have with the preview? Shouldn't Dom know who Lady D and Spiral are? I can understand her not knowing Chimera, but those other two are kinda BFD X-men villains.

Yeah... actually, didn't Dom fight Spiral in X-Force even, or am I misremembering?

No I'm pretty sure that that happened . . . Also Deathstrike was the main villain in her first solo mini series, yes? It was Lady D and Pierce against Domino?

I thought it was pointless. It was like Fraction would rather write and devote page time to oneshot Japanese cosplayers than to actual X-men.

LOL, those Japanese cosplayers have already had more lines than both Dazzler and Karma since they "rejoined" the X-Men.

I already know that my favourite quotes from this issue will be "Ut--" and "Hhhhhooooooorrrrkkkk".

That Chimera, all the best lines.

She definitely took it to the next level. "ARGH" and "URK" are so passe.

I don't think so. "Vessel" in reference to Psylocke has a loaded meaning. Many men have sailed in that vessel.

HMS Gloriana!

i those those japanese people fighting was more exciting than anything the science team has done

Yes, and I was actually emotionally invested in whether or not their love would be saved! With the science team, however, we already know they're going to fail. Again.

Where does it say she doesn't know who they are? I think she was too busy to have a lengthy conversation with them. Chimera didn't know who Domino was, and Domino didn't know who Kwannon was. That's about it.

NO!

its been meh.

you want good, you go to messiah complex, x force, cap britain and mi13, and x factor

Well, Messiah Complex was my last failled try:smile:
The beginning was amazing, there was so much potential. But in the end it was only fighting and questions without answers:

- We have a new mutant and it's a baby but we don't know why.
- There are 2 alternate timelines, one good one bad...okay, it's the only thing we will know.
- Big ending...Xavier is dead...Ahahahah!!!! What an ending, for how many time?

For me, Messiah Complex was just this: Ok, we have a good story but we want you to buy X-men legacy + X-force + X-factor during the next years to have all the chapters.

At least, House Of M, Civil War and Secret Invasion had a real ending even if they had interesting followings (Decimation, Initiative and Dark reign).

Uncanny seemed a little disconnected of MC, it is why I was curious to know the quality of the book at this moment.

Domino says "Who are you? What are you doing here?" in the panel with her gun held to Deathstrike's head.

You can interpret it however you want, like assuming she meant "who are you" to the group in general instead of just Deathstrike. But its more then likely Fraction meant for Domino to not know who Deathstrike or any of them were. If that were not the case, something like "what's going on here, Deathstrike?" would have been a more normal thing to say in the situation. Just more Fraction sloppiness.

I would like to see Betsy utilize her skills as a Charter Pilot & talk about her past experience as an agent of STRIKE, and talk about her heritage specifically her father who was a top knight of Merlin's from the Magical Otherworld Dimension.
And also about her former boyfriend who was an agent for RCX & STRIKE named Matthew (now known as Gabriel), He proposed to her just before being abducted by Mojo and later being shipped off to the X-Men Line

I want to start reading X-men books with X-men: Manifest destiny hardcover (UXM 500-503 + some manifest destiny stories).

Is it a good moment to start? Is Uncanny a good read since #500?

I would think it's a good place to jump back on - I dropped the book after #494 but am looking at getting the trades between then and now. Mind you, with a $30 price tag for that hardcover (4 issues and some tie-in stories??!), I'll wait for the eventual softcover for those issues.

You get the HC for less than (barely) $20 at Amazon. It does not contain all the Manifest Destiny stories though. Wolverine Manifest Destiny #1-4, X-Men Manifest Destiny: Nightcrawler #1 and X-Men: Manifest Destiny: Iceman, Nightcrawler, Boom-Boom & Avalanche are collected in a separate (similarly priced) HC.

Yeah, I saw that there was an X-Men:Manifest Destiny collection as well.

Trouble with getting it through Amazon is that, with the shipping cost to Australia, I'm sure it'll come out to something approaching the original $30 pricetag. :frown:

But her fans will be satisfied
Satisfied or placated? I feel it's a bit of injustice on the character by the way she was treated on the main team. After being in Marvel for over 20 years she finally gets a chance to be on the main team, and they didn't do crap with her. It was worse than when Cannonball first joined the X-Men. Hell, Husk was developed better than Shan was.

That's a bit of a problem, yes.

At least here in Europe there are some local Amazons with lower shipping rates, but then again the prices are usually higher which evens it out. The best solution is to just order several things at once in order to spread out the shipping costs a little.

The story feels somewhat spoiled already. It will probably just end with the return of a Psylocke/Kwannon amalgam and the Sisterhood driven away but not defeated. Along the way we'll get a Jean tease and a minor character will perhaps be killed off.

Not much to get excited about, but with low expectations it's easier to be pleasantly surprised.

The crossover with the Dark Avengers looks more likely to really stir things up at least.

Is that what she could be doing, dropping hints about being depowered? I didn't really read it that way the first time, but it could be that her captions were all math-like because she no longer has her abilities.

She's compensating for the loss of her abilities with applied mathematics!.

I hope Betsy & Kwannon reswap bodies by the end of the "Sisterhood Arc".
Then Betsy either joins her brother in M:13 or X-Force, and Kwannon becomes a new reoccuring villian for the X-Men & X-Force as an assasin for the Hand or Mauraders, in addition to dyeing her hair back to black

Oh please. Fraction's inclusion of X-Women in this series is an afterthought, which is why we get such pivotal moments as Karma eating cereal and Pixie tattling. There's nothing for us Glitterati to be nervous about with the exception of what color Dazzler's new uniform will be while she acts as panel dressing.

You think so? I find it oddly coincidental that you have a woman defying nature by raising people from the dead while R'Chel and Korvus McCloud find their phoenix fragments taken from them. Revanche's psychic energy was already dispersed across the planet when she died, so maybe her body will house the resurrected spirit of Jean Grey  !

I really am a Fabian fan but the whole Betsy-Kwannon body swap needs to be retconed. I prefered Claremont's original "hand used magic and tech. to change her features to that of an Asian". There really has been a woman I read about who had plastic surgercy to look more asian so in the superhero world this works for me.

I don't understand why everyone mocks Karma for "only eating cereal on panel" as if thats all she ever does. Its foreshadowing, you illiterate bastards.

Karma appearing eating cereal is part of her incredibly overlooked subplot, leading up to the summer event crossover "The Return of Fat Karma". Ever since "Worlds Apart", the Shadow King has been festering inside of her after being defeated from Storm and he has been forcing her to eat sugar cereals on every panel, eventually making her obese and PHAT.

You fanboys/girls need to open up your eyes and use your minds. Don't read this at face value, it is OBVIOUS that the cereal eating is intentional and not just filler-worthy. ;-D
