I was really into the cartoon as a kid (it still looks really good, actually) and maybe when I stop being broke I'll check out the comic.

Thats awesome, but good luck finding the last few issues for a reasonable price.

Wiki makes it look like there were 35 issues and they were all collected. Are the trades rare?

I don't know about the trades, I think that I have seen them on ebay a few times, the cost of those are not to bad I'm sure.

There's only 6 volumes? I may have to pick those up. I have the first three issues- I didn't really understand them as a kid. I just liked the artwork. Reread them not too long ago, and daymn I was impressed.
It's funny, because when they released Darker Image, everyone thought that Maxx was the least dark of the three books. But anyone who's read it knows that Maxx is by far the darkest.
Is it spelled Maxxx or Maxx?

Maxx with two x
As the series goes on it gets much more twisted and dark...but still really good.

I loved The Maxx. One of my favorite Image comics back in the day. But I am also missing some of the last few issues.

Great book. Especially the first twenty issues.
There actually is a thread about the Maxx already. You can find it here: Maxx Thread (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=53672&highlight=maxx)
