DC Nation previewed the cover of Red Robin #2 today.

And I had Tim as a lock on Red Robin.

Well then, I guess it's Jason Todd. After all, he was Red Robin during Countdown. And the solicit said for issue #1 that Red Robin wouldn't be alone in his quest to find Bruce Wayne. So having Tim Drake go along with him might have been what that was hinting at.

I still think it's Tim. This cover might just be symbolic or something, like the BFTC varriants with Dick/Batman and Tim/Batman. Seeing as what is going on in the BFTC storyline, I really doubt Tim would work with Jason.

That's possible.

It would make little sense that Todd and Drake would work together after BFTC, and hate to say this but what if its Dick and Tim, and Batman is....naw they wouldn't do that

Well then... I'm a little confused. Cause that means that after BFTC, there's 2 Robins, and a Red Robin. But like someone said earlier, I find it hard to believe that Todd and Drake would be working together, especially after today's BFTC #2 (which I have not read, admittedly, but there is a spoiler thread newly up and running here (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=264580)). This definitely makes the BFTC ending a lot less cut and dry...

The way the two Robins are mirroring each other, it makes me think that the one on the left is just an image of his past and the one on the right is the present. Something like that.

That's my hope as well. Robin isn't fighting anybody so I'm hoping that's Robin of the past and Red Robin is the present.

Covers have a habit of being misleading. I seem to remember everyone saying Huntress couldn't have been the new Batgirl around NO MANS LAND because they appeared on a cover together..

Agreed. That's probably it, now that I take a second glance at it. Their bodies are basically perfectly mirrored.

I'm going with Symbolism on this cover as well. Tim on the left mirrors Redrobin on the right. This just seems to further indicate that Tim is RR.

I'm sticking with my gut and saying this is just Tim mirroring himself as Robin on the left and Red Robin on the right.

Gonna have to agree with everyone else, I think it's just a mirror image of Tim. Although I does strike me as odd that on the Robin side that aren't more bad guys to make it more symmetrical. Regardless it would be weird anyways to have two Robins running around after BFTC.

Ooh, I was wondering who Robin was fighting, the box was covering it. I'll switch the good image in.

Y'know, despite my initial reaction to the Spoiler's presence on the cover, I'm still getting a Before and After vibe to it.

I think another good question, regardless even of whether it's a mirror image or not, would be why Robin is fighting spoiler.

Oh good, glad I'm not the only one who noticed Spoiler on there.

Man, I'm really getting sick of all this misleading crap. Considering they've done nearly nothing to hide the identity of the new Batman (even if the most obvious choice is the best choice), I'm highly annoyed (and yet slightly amazed) they're being so secretive about the identities of Red Robin and Batgirl.

....Then again, maybe they're not. Maybe Todd really has taken up the costume again. After all these frigging red herrings, maybe I'm just looking too deeply into things.

You also aren't the only one getting sick of the misleading crap. I didn't mind it here, as I was distracted by Spoiler, but enough is enough.

It looks like Dick in the Robin suit. The hair looks more like his than Tim's short hair.

Didn't see Spoiler at first. Drat, there goes my theory that she's the new Batgirl.

Just thought about this. A while ago, I can't remember where exactly, it was made clear that Bruce/Batman left messages for everyone, including Jason. We know he told Alfred to form the Outsiders, but what he told Jason we don't know. What if he told Jason to test Dick and Tim, so that one of them would become the next Batman, or some such...

It would explain why Jason is doing all that he's doing in B:BFTC, and also how he could be Red Robin in the future.

Maybe that's Damien Robin fighting Spoiler and the Red Robin Tim fighting Ra's Ninja's.

It is a mirror image, I'm sure of it. More than ever I'm convinced that Tim is Red Robin.

Going to Francis Manapul's blog he has thumbnail sketches for the cover for issue 2. There are three of them, all of them feature Red Robin fighting ninjas and Tim as Robin fighting/saving Spoiler. One of them matches the cover they're using, the others are slightly varied. One of them was seemingly fighting side-by-side, Red Robin fighting ninjas and Tim Spoiler, standing next to one another on a rooftop, not too different, just that they weren't diving into action, they were standing. The other cover though, that is what makes me think it is a mirror image meant to reflect Tim as both Robin and Red Robin. It has Red Robin fighting a horde of ninjas on a rooftop, while a reflection, upside down, of Robin fighting Spoiler on the rooftop is directly underneath it, also a virtual mirror image.

I could be wrong, but this series of images combined with the solicitation text for issue 1 and the editorial comments about Tim makes me positive that Tim is Red Robin.

quite surprising

I didn't know that Robin fans don't want Spoiler in Robin series... why ?

quite surprising

I just don't see the appeal of the character myself, but that's just me.

A lot of the time, it just seems to me that Tim and Stephanie are joined at the hip, and for me, that limits the growth of both characters. Granted, I'm more interested in the growth for Tim, but it's never good to me for characters to be known mainly for their associations with other characters

We all did. That's obviously why they released this cover image, to create doubt in our minds.

I agree completely.

No way would they pair Jason and Damian after he just finishes shooting the kid.

Test them by trying to kill them?

Yeah how dare DC try and keep a secret! Who the hell needs surprises anymore? We're comic fans, we want all of our answers now, screw anticipation!

Yup, ya can't get much more symbolic than that. You could try of course, but... well, you could try...

Makes me wonder why DC isn't even trying to be coy or anything about the new roles post-BftC. Kind of deflates the whole event, doesn't it?

Or maybe I should just learn my lesson and stay away from spoilery material. (Not that it was too difficult to guess who would be who any way by the way the event's being written...)

Also, note the use of the Bo-staff on the last page, which is Tim's signature weapon

Just realized that Christopher Yost is writing this series. Will definitely be picking this up. Nice to see Tim go from Robin to Red Robin similar to how Dick went from Robin to Nightwing.

Can't wait to see Tim as Red Robin... but is it just me or has he gained a lot of muscle between BFTC #3 and Red Robin #1?

Yep. You might as well say "case closed" at this point.
