We have an xbox 360 last year but haven't gotten too many games. We beat grand theft auto pretty quickly and now we are playing midnight club...have a few others that are mostly for the kids like Tony Hawk and Viva Pinata...

We need some inspiration for new games - so what are some of your favorites? Any recommendations? I'm a fan of strategy and puzzle games mostly but will play just about anything as long as it's not too graphic (grand theft auto is about as graphic as I'll go!)

Well, if you like strategy games, Halo Wars is pretty good.

If Grand Theft Auto's as graphic as you go then you're good. I don't think it gets any more graphic than that, really.

Anyway, if you liked GTA I'd recommend Crackdown. It's fairly short and the story is nonexistent, but it's huge fun while it lasts. Also, it's fairly cheap these days.

Grand Theft Auto 4 isn't particularly graphic. It's far less graphic than most M rated action games.

I would go with the Live Arcade game "Marble Ultra Blast 3D".

Fun game, addicting, and pisses you off all at the same time. My girlfriend doesn't normally play my xbox games, but she had a hard time letting that one go.

It may be more graphic then what you're looking for, but IMO Dead Rising is one of the best games on 360. If it's puzzle games you like there are some really good ones on Xbox Live, like Super Puzzle Fighters 2 Turbo HD and Braid...in fact there are quite a few really good games on Live, like Geometry Wars, Pac-Man C.E., Galaga Legions, Worms, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Bionic Commando Rearmed. As for strategy games you can't go wrong with Civilzation Revolution or Halo Wars...or Worms.

-Fable II
You're bound to be at least decent and enjoy this game despite your level of gamer. And this game is excellent. It is a sequel and does have a lot to deal with Fable I, but you can generally go through the game without prior knowledge as with most video game sequels it's sales depend on playability. Now, as I mention before, it is very simple yet allows itself to be complex. You can pick up this game, but you can't put it down.

-Portal
This is a must if you love puzzle games. And it's not graphic...If you don't mind blood splatters that take place off screen (save for some well placed portal). Surely you've heard someone shout, "The cake is a lie!" Yep. You're looking at the game that spawned it. The is the most entertaining puzzle game you will play, it mixes elements of an FPS and a strategy puzzle in a unique way that will blow your mind. It is very short, but trust me, you put it down for a week, you'll want to try it out fifteen more times!

-Mirror's Edge
Once again, relatively non...Graphic...Umm...Well...You most likely will fall from very far heights and have to do some battles but, keep on reading. You have never played a game like Mirror's Edge. Trust me on that! You play as a parkour artist working "underground" (Really running from rooftop to rooftop, delivering messages and keeping a look out for your organization). You have to figure out how to use your environment to your advantage and art constantly thrilled at the quick paced action. There is little gun involved violence, your character typically is told to disarm any police they come by.

-Bioshock
This game is vastly more violent, rated M for good reason, very, very frightening, let me tell you that, this girlie had to play it with every light in her house on! It is pretty strategical as you are given the choice to make decisions that alter the outcome of your character and the world around you.

I could not recommend Bioshock without telling you to check out...

-Fallout 3
Fallout 3 (again, a sequel that requires no prior knowledge) is strategical in the same way, but is a very different game. Not as gorey (well...Not quite as gorey) and certainly not as scary, I don't care what you say about a ghoul! The decisions here are more varied, though, so you may enjoy it more.

Now I have not played Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, but I thoroughly enjoyed it's predecessors growing up and the new feature seems as if it would fit what you are looking for in a game.

I hope I've helped!
