This Weeks DC NAtion..
I have had it confirmed from a lot of people..
People here who have their comics can confirm it
Its keeping the GA/BC numbering so its Green Arrow #22 in July

I wonder if this is true and not some sort of April Fool's joke being played by DC.
I imagine if this is true, then GA and BC are getting divorced...?...
I do think it is interesting that Dinah will be appearing in WW around this time. I am wondering if Gail is writing the BC feature.

Its basically a confirmation of what NYtimes said the other day..
and no one is talking about a divorce.. might just be that they realize that married superheros do not have to be attached at the hip..

But if they are still married, why not keep it GA/BC and just had a half decent writer write it?

If it is true, they should just keep the title and split the book down the middle.
Let each character rotate to the "front" storyline for each arc and occasionally have the stories run together or cross over.

I'd like to see Tony Bedard writing the BC backup. He seems to have a fond respect for Dinah. It still amazes me though how so many DC writers CAN'T write her or other female heroines.

Good riddance. And I know a lot of married guys who try to spend as little time as possible with their wives, so if she's NEVER around, it won't be that farfetched.
I'm reminded of that great Liam Gallagher quote: "No such thing as happily married. If you wanna see the opposite sex sprout four heads, then exchange a couple of rings. You walk to the altar with a woman with one head and you walk back up with a fucking monster."

Or maybe a realization that they made a mistake by taking Canary out of BoP and shoehorning her back into GA's life.
Because that worked so well for both titles and both characters.
As an editorial edict, this one was epic fail.
OTOH, Gail did say in another thread that Dinah will be showing up in WW. #34 and #35, yes?

Sounds good to me, so long as it's done someplace other than Green Arrow.
A back-up featuring Connor Hawke makes the most sense, since he was Green Arrow for a while (is he still? i never really got how that worked), and is currently off on his own somewhere, no doubt having all sorts of adventures and we're missing out.
Black Canary already appears in JLA. She's like the critical darling of the line-up. Sort of like Lollapalooza '95, where Sonic Youth were the headliners, but people only went to see Hole.
Plus, so long as Black Canary is relegated to a back-up slot in a male character's book, people are going to complain of sexism. I thought the suggestion of having her back-up stories in Wonder Woman was a great idea, but apparently that's not happening.

From the latest 20 questions on Nurama
16. There were some more questions about the co-features, chief among them a poster asked if the co-features would be ongoing, or if creators would come on for a period and tell a “co-feature” story and then another team would take the slot, or the book would lose its co-feature for a period, or...what?
DD: Well, the way we stand now, there are seven co-features in total – five were announced, and I can confirm the last two as being Captain Atom in Action Comics and we’ll be splitting Green Arrow and Black Canary in that series, so Green Lantern will have the lead feature, and Black Canary will have the co-feature. And before anyone gets upset about the feeling that Black canary should be the lead, that’s the most fluid of the co-features – we may see a full-on 30-page story with the two of them together, or Green Arrow taking a couple months as the co-feature while Black canary takes the lead slot. So that’s pretty fluid.
The plan is that those are the features at this time, until we choose differently – by which I mean that we have another character that could work in a co-feature slot or that a co-feature performs beyond our expectation and is able to spin off into their own project, leaving a vacancy. So there are several ways to see them change.
Still wont work without a new Creative team

Thankfully Dinah is slated for a back up feature. If she wasn't you know she was going to end up getting shoved into a refrigerator.

No she didn't. I think it was only meant to be temporary to let Oracle shine but Gail herself wrote Dinah out of Birds of Prey a couple of years before the book was canceled despite strong sales over many, many years. I'm only bringing this up because with JLA disbanded, BOP canceled, and Dinah taken off Green Arrow and Black Canary the only place left for her is death and Limbo without the backup feature.

No, Lester.
Gail wrote Canary out of BoP because it was an editorial decision to marry GA and BC. It was even in one of those DC Nation colums, with Didio telling Judd Winick to get them together.
Then we had the marriage issue/specials, and then into the GA/BC book.

Dixons BOP was Babs and Dinah (mostly Dinah)

Liam Gallagher is known for his patience and understanding. The fact him and his brother have fought so many times as adults show you this man isn't the voice you should be accepting. Good singer and band that Oasis is...but I'd go to the Gallagher's for marriage advice like I'd go to see Jerry Springer discuss politics.

Concerning Green Arrow....I'm sorry the entire thing wasn't working. I think its best to take Ollie and focus the series on him and keep Dinah as support. This way the usual plots of Dinah being a hostage won't happen.
My main hope is Mike Grell comes on the series and fixes the character.

If you don't like the threads hating on the GA/BC situation, stop reading them. And MAYBE the effort people are putting into things is, I dunno, speaking their mind (and their wallets) about the piss poor content of said book. Just because I'm not aspiring to be a writer or an artist doesn't mean I (or anyone else) can't call a piece of shit a piece of shit. And trust me a lot of people find the series a big, heaping piece of shit with a side order of shit.

Much then like 'responding' to those who hate it, which I'm sure is equally 'lame'.
Well you can enjoy it equally on both boards then. In fact, you could hit all the big boards on the internet, they are all pretty much filled with bile by a multitude of posters at the crap your 'good pal' Norton and Kreisberg drudge out every month. LOL

the recursive loop you and several others continually twist in to justify the miserable bitching continues to be hilarious.
The bad stereotype of online comic nerd is the reason that the pros don't listen and don't take seriously a large percentage of the online bitching.

Clarification: the three (Mike, Tom and I) of us join several others every week in Chicago for a Drink and Draw, and I knew Mike about 2 years before I knew Tom because we both worked at the same company (ddp) at different times. Skottie Young started it. It's a lot of fun.

I like the book ok now. There are still some major problems that I believe stem from DC not understanding either character at all; therefore they seem a bit clueless on how to best use them.
That said, after 30 years of collecting all things Ollie, I can honestly say I've been jerked around enough this decade to formally declare:
"I don't give a flying crap what they do anymore."
Something tells me that given the sales numbers, there are approximately 75,000 readers who see it the same way.

Theres a reason why there is so many Green Arrow threads made. He's a character who many remember as being pretty damn good at one point. Now add the fact he's been part of Identity Crisis , had a huge marriage that happened in the books and revamped into a series with Black Canary who has her fans....its no shock there is a ton of threads dedicated to the character.
I support K-Dawg in his determination to see Green Arrow done right. I know a few laughed at me when I pretty much in threads that McDuffie was on , beg for Roy Harper and Kendra to be broken up. And it happened ...

Nah, I'd say BoP was clearly Dinah's book during Gail's run, with Babs a close second. Dinah got the most storylines, and Helena the least. In fact, I can only recall Helena having one major plot that was really her own (when she infiltrated the mob to collect information on them). I'm pretty sure I remember Gail saying that she regretted not getting the chance to do more with Helena as well, so that would lend itself to the notion that Huntress got the least amount of time in the spotlight.
