So the "complete reading list" for Blackest Night has been leaked, and apparently one of the tie ins is

"Wonder Woman: Blackest Night" a 3 issue mini.

Of course, Superman, Batman, and Titans are also getting 3 issue minis. And there are other MAJOR spoilers leaked. But hey, screw 'em, let's start speculating all sorts of crazy things about the WW tie-in.

Here's hoping for Terry Long's charred corpse.

Bonus points if they include the kid.

Haven't they both been dead for about a decade? or did they get ressurected?

Do you have a link to the leaked info? I don't suppose creative teams have been announced yet?

Yeah, they're dead. The whole thing with Blackest Night is zombies with power rings, so I'm saying I hope we get to see Marv Wolfman's self-insert character flying around looking like the Sunday brunch special at a Georgia barbecue house.

Obviously, it'll be Zombie Max Lord. Only he'll be remarkably ineffective because his head will still be rotated 180 degrees.

I'm trying to think of what dead Wonder Woman-related characters could be appearing in this. Terry Long and the kids have already been mentioned. There's also Myndi Mayer, Diana Trevor, Lucy Spears, Trevor Barnes, Queen Antiope, and about 12 billion other Amazons.

But of course, it will be all about Max Lord, I'm sure.

And Trevor Barnes! WE MIGHT GET ZOMBIE TREVOR BARNES!

(Of course, with Geoff Johns at the helm of Blackest Night, we might get bad Earth 1/2 callbacks instead, but a man can dream)

The thing is I like zombies allot (my favorite horror genre outside of Lovecraftian weird fiction) and I actually like marvel zombies. BUT there are two things that make marvel zombies ok with me while Blackest Night just repulses me in concept. A. Marvel Zombies is set in another universe besides the mainstream marvel U which means these aren't the real characters while blackest night uses the real ones (I mean the use of the actual versions of J'onn J'onz and the golden age superman is a total WTF) and B. Marvel Zombies was a dark comedy that really wasn't meant to be taken seriously while Blackest Night is a big EVENT with repucussions that affect other titles and is meant to be taken deadly seriously.

Diana Trevor, Lucy Spears

See, this is why the rest of the Perez run needs to be collected. Read it on Scans Daily, two of the saddest things I've ever read.

They collected it a few years ago. The scans you read were probably from those trades.

The Perez run was from #1-62, only #1-24 have been collected.

I knew it was a joke when the typeface was different and the image was replicated with no room for the original list.

It doesn't really make sense for Greg Rucka (which isn't confirmed) to come back to Wonder Woman unless it's to deal with Lord and Wonder Woman's handling of the situation. Give some kind of closure to his run possibly.

Why doesn't it make any sense?

He's not writing his Wonder Woman anymore. His WW was an ambassador and had a certain set of friends and Gods. The only plot thread to reattach is the one he publicly expressed an interest in actually talking about.

Maybe I'm just jaded against the idea. Waid returns to Flash etc. It's rarely turned out well when someone comes back to a character after they've moved on.

Rucka happens to love the character. It wouldn't be that unusual if he wanted to write her again, even if briefly.

That's exactly why it makes perfect sense for Rucka to do it.

Though with our luck, it'll be written by Will Pfeifer.

Honestly, of the characters that have died in Wonder Woman, Max is not one of the ones I'd like to see back.

Frankly it'd be interesting to see a good writer try to do something with White Magician, Decay, Sebastian Ballesteros, Ariadne, Cronus, Trevor Barnes, Trinity...

Of course, worst case scenario, the book is written or plotted by Johns. We might even get something wretched like "Wonder Woman faces the foes of World War II (or even Golden/Silver Age) Wonder Woman, and learns she's inferior to how Wonder Woman used to be written!"
