I finally can say something genuinely appreciative here. I've been really looking forward to getting my hands on this Witchfinder series. Edward Grey is a really interesting character on multiple levels, one of the most intriguing mysteries of the Hellboy mythos I think. It also seems that learning more about him could potentially answer all kinds of questions in both the Hellboy and BPRD comics as he comes up in both (if you count The Drowning as a BPRD arc.) Between this and upcoming BPRD 1947, I might just give myself a complex from anticipation. I didn't even notice at first that this is fairly different from the colors of Mignola's usual covers. I gives it a kind of old yellowish parchment look. I like it.

Small image is from SFX magazine (http://www.sfx.co.uk), looks like there was an interview in July 2008 issue...

Thanks for the link to the "Making of"!

Funny how several scanners produced such different results.

I wonder what those disembodied hands are trying to kill ?
Who or what is that monster?

In the two pictures we have a monster of some sort and we also see 3 types of weapons, the first being a Chutt warriors sword with a wooden stake attached to its handle, and in the other image we have plain wooden stakes as well as what appear to be electrical cattle prods.

Didn’t we see those cattle prods in one of the “Dark Horse Book of -------” books (Collected in Hellboy volume #7) where hellboy investigates a hidden basement with experiments going on. Also doesn’t Hellboy get shocked by one of those during the Wild Hunt?

Anyway I bet that monster will be getting some nasty cuts and bruises from all of those weapons … sigh … poor monster, he was just introduced to the Hellboy universe and wants to live in peace as a horrible entity, and we repay him by sending our dear old Witchfinder to go and poke him with various sharp objects

maybe I should start a save the monster campaign, anyone else with me on this?

Anyone know what that eye medallion is hanging down at the bottom of the page (I'm talking about the colored one). It seems so familiar, I'm sure we've seen it before. I'd look through all my books, but I thought I'd post it here and see if anyone knows off the top of their head.

And for those of us too lazy to go to Dark Horse.com and actually click on the Zones link (meaning me):

http://www.darkhorse.com/Zones/Hellboy

Very cool walk-thru! Mike and Dave (and Scott, of course) are a brilliant synergistic combination of individuals.

Edit- Looks like the site link was posted in original thread start, but it was unclear (at least to me). Hopefully this calls it out a bit for those who are as visually impaired as I am.

I just took a look in the bookshelf. It appears on the cover of the Garden Of Souls TPB. It seems to be connected to Panyas history.

Yea, I just read the summary of this and it mentions the Heliopic Brotherhood of Ra being a big part. Here's a thought. Iron Prometheus dropped tons of hints that were really important in mainstream BPRD books. What do you bet Witchfinder does the same, what with Panya's ties to the Heliopic and her acting all weird and stuff lately? Oh and Saa and Everett Caul too of course.

So we'll definitely get at least tidbits of info like we did with Lobster Johnson.

Exciting news! In B.P.R.D.: The Garden of Souls the H.B.R. were linked to Langdon Everett Caul and Gilfryd, but they were also linked to Panya and the Oannes Society. We could learn all kinds of crap in this one. Of course, learning more about Sir Edward is the most exciting prospect of all!
