Just a quick funny little thing, in the latest episode of Batman brave and the bold( The Bold Trials of The Demon) where Batman goes back in time to work with Etrigan and Sherlock Holmes, the episode featues the Mignola costume from Gotham by gaslight.

"The gargoyles at Mignola Chapel"...
Awesome. I still don't love the show, but that was pretty cool.

You gotta love a show that manages to intertwine the work of Arthur Conan Doyle, Jack Kirby, and Mike Mignola.
Also, it starts Batman. I really like this show; it's obviously geared towards hardcore comic book lovers.

I'm really liking this show. It skillfully walks the line of being both campy and well written.

Ehh. The show doesn't do a whole lot for me, but that's a cool use of Mignola's costume design.

I despise the blocky animation designs for the show and I like even less the new 'happier' direction they choose to go in with Batman. I suppose when dark had been done to death though, was was left? Schlockie, I suppose.

This show is completely geared towards younger viewers, not grown men. Frankly, I really dig it. And I love the design work. It's so much fun.

i gotta say i LOVE this show... great, fun designs and stories... a nice departure from the last two decades of batman cartoons (the bruce timm era set a high standard and the recent jeff matsuda designed "the batman" found it's footing on it's own) that i'm not afraid to share with my son (unlike the batman comics - or movies - out these days)... over the top at times, sure, but that's what makes it fun.

I certainly won't discount that the show's sought after demographic is children, however, good taste in animation design is entirely subjective. I just don't happen to agree with the direction they went in.
The show itself flows fairly well and I've enjoyed several of the youtube posted episodes, but much rather prefer the designs from the most recent previous incarnation.

I haven't watched this show before, but I like this episode alright. I like the simple design work for the characters and its awesome to see Gotham by Gaslight brought to life. “Mignola Chapel” – nice reference. It’s everything I look for in a comic – demons, Victorian era crime fighters, Sherlock Holmes. I will, however, never get used to how silly Etrigan’s costume looks – someone needs to seriously redesign it.
