Our own 'manda, better known here as WhiteRose, who created an internet mini-sensation with her drawings of the TINY SIXERS, is doing her first ever DC professional work, as the penciler, inker and colorist of a three page back-up story in issue eight of SECRET SIX!
This issue, Nicola Scott takes a breather after the killing pace (and killer deadlines caused by ME unfortunately!) on the first major arc, UNHINGED. But that doesn't mean we won't still have one kickass lady from down under!
You HAVE to get this comic, if for no other reason than to see 'Manda's AWESOME debut, "RAGDOLL DREAMS!"

I admit...I have about 8 copies on order for my bosses that let me have the time off and a whole mess of other people in thanks back here. But it's pretty much all you Yabsters that get the credit for reposting the first batches (looking at you, Hy) and just generally being awesome.

What I've done before at my comics shop is buy everyone currently in the store a free copy of a certain comic.
Good on ya white rose, I now have a reason to read the series.
The fact that it's one of the best comics on the stand isn't reason enough? :tongue:

Tragically, my comic art career ended when my scribbles didn't improve at all. My characters all have huge arms and legs, strange faces and one foot bigger than the other.
Everyone in the industry thinks my drawings are crap apart from Rob Liefield, who bought six drawing pads of my work. ;-)

Huh. That's weird.
You know, it didn't even OCCUR to me to have Amanda write the story herself. Part of it is because I'm pretty guarded when it comes to how the Six are written (since I am darn near the only person who has written the team since day one, though I am trying to talk Nicola into writing an issue), but also because the story ties in a little with the main story that issue.
Also, I'm not sure if DC woulda gone for it...it's kind of amazing they went for the three pages being penciled, inked AND colored by a completely-new-to-DC person. Thank YOU, Sean Ryan, for letting us do this!
But now, hmmm. I wonder if I shoulda just had her write it. Her cartoons were so awesome and dead-on.

But it doesn't matter because her pages ROCK!

You kiddin'? These kids are your babies! And man, the art was enough for me. I'm still a little staggered Sean didn't just pass the colours off to someone else who'd had a bit more experiance.
Mine would've been all one-liners and cheap jokes. There's a bit of class in your script, amongst the one-liners and cheap jokes :biggrin: So feh, quit your apologising. This was hella-fun.

Finally Confirmation! I could've sworn I had heard something about this in an interview with Gail some time ago. But since then I haven't been able to find the interview. For awhile I began to think I was just crazy and had imagined it all. But now that its officially official, I feel joy. Made even greater by the fact that I had been reading Tiny Titans and all the Secret Six stories.
Oh, and Congrats Whiterose, Tiny Sixers always makes my day.

This is very, very cool. So many posters want to be in mainstream comics, but so very few make it. It really gladdens my heart that WhiteRose did and I think it gives inspiration to the legions of other posters who have that same dream.
