looks like it could be a good scare, my gf is into these movies so i'll be seeing this one regardless, but at least this one looks good (IMO)...plus i had already seen the real story (http://carmenreed.com/haunting_connecticut.htm) on discovery channel...always better when theres a kernel of truth.

I saw this a couple nights ago at SXSW. It's a basic haunted house movie, but mixed with the story of a family dealing with the oldest son being cancer-stricken. It's nice to see some more grounded in reality moments because of that, but at the same time, the movie feels a bit disjointed in a couple places. Then again, that may have been the point. The high school age girl sitting next to me did jump quite a few times, so that means it hits its mark there. Definitely not the worse film I saw there (that was the horrible Make Out with Violence), but it wasn't the best either.

Yeah definitely looking forward to this...a couple of friends of mine were at SXSW and said they enjoyed the film...just read this interview with the director (http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news/topnews.php?id=9999) this morning...

I feel bad for the people that live in the house now. They've been there for years and have nothing to report, except people are now showing up at their house, being obnoxious, because of the movie being released.

it's a Amityville Horror rip off but it may be good.

No way am I interested in seeing this, because the Snedekers don't deserve any of my money (even if indirectly).

There's also a decent tv movie about a "true story" of a family haunted by the supernatural.
