Ms. Marvel -- I'm totally lost here

Confused as heck from the previews here -- Ms. Marvel was a Skrull? Carol depowered? Moonstone taking over?

Whaaa?!?

I've missed out on two years of issues (ordering the trades from Amazon)
Could somebody give me a quick rundown on this? What in the world is going on here?

The secret invasion tie ins were great, where Ms Marvel literally punches skrull after skrull for 3 issues straight. There's some great art as well.

With the new status quo known as Dark Reign, Norman Osborn has set up the Dark Avengers, and literally taken over shield and replaced it with H.A.M.M.E.R.

The Moonstone character looks like will be temporarily taking over the Ms. Marvel book. I have personally loved the issues that took place after Secret Invasion. Issues 31-35 have been great in my opinion.

What I said was brief, punching skrull's is not spoilers! Unless you don't know that the Marvel universe was invaded by Skrulls, which means OOOPPSSSS

ok Ms Marvel is flying around talking to people and fighting bad guy and occasionally another good guy.

Oh and she owes Spiderman a night on the town.

It can be confusing. To sum it all up.

Carol used a lot of power during her time in SI, this seems to have drained her of her powers for at least a little time. She was not a skrull, but did have some alien living inside of her, and there may have been a skrull Carol running around... I'm not sure.
For some reason Carol is not going to work for Osborn (why not may be explained in future issues or when the writer feels like it or feels it'll help the story, see other thread on Carol's hypocrisy), and is instead using some old contacts (conveniently at hand) to work against Norman in another identity (despite the fact that she was world famous and as far as I can tell has not changed her appearance at all) and I think she will have to get at least some of her powers back when Bendis puts her into the New Avengers (another bit to be explained as she is one of the last people they should ever trust).

As I said it can be confusing. Best to wait and hope that marvel will make sense of it all if you care about the character.
