Welcome to X-Crescence, which is from the word excrescence, which is defined as "An outgrowth or enlargement, especially an abnormal one, such as a wart."

Well, this is an outgrowth from the X-Boards proper.

This is where you pretty much can post whatever you want.

Civility rules apply here! But you can have arguments and stuff like that - do note that arguments can and SHOULD be civil. One thing you definitely can't do is trash talk posters who are not in the thread, like, "Oh man, did you see what Poster X said? What a loser." You can talk generally about stuff, though - like, "Oh man, some posters are really getting me mad today," etc.

And I certainly hope folks follow the rules, because I'd hate to close it again.

I have not been to this dairy farm but the thought of walking around the area seems spooky, and the writer of the story did not seem to have answers :eek:

It just got busy... I actually just watched a movie... "My Name is Bruce". We had no specimens arrive, and maintenence took care of itself, so there was enough time. Now, though, nurses have just started dropping stuff off en masse. I think I have to go for a bit.

I could see you enjoying Brisco County Jr., a fun cowboy TV series from a decade or so ago.

He's most famous for the Evil Dead movies but I don't know if you're into gory horror movies with a humorous edge.

He was actually at a bar at Comic-Con last year. I was there with Uncle Nobs, starsandgarters and several other CBRians.

EDIT: Also worth seeing starring Bruce is Comic Book: The Movie about a fan obsessed with making sure the movie being made about his favorite superhero stays true to the classic version.

try to have fun and enjoy things before the travel, it works for me :smile:

The travel to China from Japan is costly, more than I thought. The flight to Beijing from NRT is around 90K yen. And we also have to pay for tourist visa, hotels, travel guide.. they did not tell me exactly how much but I think it is over 150K. :eek:

I fly. I bought the tickets two weeks ago... 173 Euros, not so expensive, and quite quick. I like trains, but it takes forever in train, because trains in Spain are not that good... once you get to France it is better, but I only have four days to be there and do not want to spend one getting there...

It is the same for everyone, I guess... but I usually take all August to fo as far from my workplace as I can. This August I would like to go to Argentina, but have not decided yet

China's really expensive full-stop. You basically pay a massive tourist premium and the distances involved to see stuff are vast. State control makes it very very difficult for indepenedent travel too.

In Japan you would be different.. but we have a lot of foreigners in the country too, not only tourists.

Japan is probably more about the cities than the natural beauty. There are some exception like Mount Fuji, Nagano in the wintertime, etc.. but you are correct, the attractions of Japan are really more in the cities.

But if you like hiking you would like Mount Fuji! :biggrin:

I find the way they find the new Dalai Lama very odd. I watched a film once where they were looking for the reincarnation. It seemed like such a barren desolate place.

I'm not sure if I would ever want to visit. My friend has and he said it was beautiful. I guess I just don't understand why the Chinese would want it given it seems barren of all natural resources. Perhaps it is strategic !? I don't know.

That is not good for your body timbox. Only the very old can cope with not getting regular 8 hours sleep. Their immune systems are not as efficient therefore they do not need to be recharged as regularly since they never amount to the same amount of resistence younger peoples do.

I think the same is true about all war crimes. The countries involved seem not to want to acknowledge it to their citizens. I think this is dangerous because if we do not know our own history we are inevitably doomed to repeat it.

I personally know that the issues with Eire, and Northern Ireland aren't really taught in the UK. I think this is a shame since the lack of knowledge is not good.

Maybe arrogance is not the right word.

In the mind of our country we have given apology once and that should be enough. When the other countries start to ask for more apology, more payment for war crimes, the government does not listen.. because we have already given our apology and do not want to keep apologizing.

We do admit to the wrongs, but do not wish to keep apologizing and reminding and paying for it.
