Hey guys!
Getting married in May and was hoping to have a quote in the service or a reading about marriage/love from Marvel comics. I know this might sound stupid but everyone knows me as a Marvel Maniac and it would feel wrong if the service did not reflect this somehow and as I have been told SPECIFICALLY that I can't wear my Punisher T-shirt, I thought this would be awesome! I'm also lucky enough to have a very understanding fiance who has agreed to this!
So if you have any suggestions, I'd REALLY appreciate it!
Thanks
Piran

I'm afraid these days,Marvel is the WRONG place for marriage and love.

"How long are we going to live like this? 'Cause, you know, my life sucked before, and even I can't believe how much more this sucks. This is 'Fighting a guy named Typeface' level of sucking. And Wong - poor Wong is already sick of us and it hasn't even been a day."

I don't think any of these quotes are helping at all . . .
As I said before, these days, love, romance and especially marriage are VERBOTEN at Marvel.

Most of my favourite romantic lines from comics I can think of turn out to be quotes from elsewhere.
For example, Kingpin once said to Vanessa: "Grow old with me. The best is yet to be." This was in Batman/Spider-Man by JM Dematteis, but he didn't write that line. Much older than the comic.
I don't have my collection in front of me, so I'll suggest the obvious (which you may have thought of)
Track down all the famous wedding issues and see what you can crib:
-Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman
-Vision and Scarlet Witch
-Crystal and Quicksilver
-Cyclops and Jean Grey
-Cyclops and that girl who looked like Jean Grey
-Storm and Black Panther
-Yellowjacket and Wasp (I think she took advantage of his mental health problems to trick him into marrying him, so that may not be ideal. Plus it didn't end well)
-Captain Britain and Meggan
etcetera
Also flip through Ultimate Spider-Man #13. Might be something there.
I feel like Frank Miller's work may be the place to look also. Check issues about Daredevil and Elektra or the graphic novel Daredevil Love & War.
Try Kevin Smith's Daredevil as well. There was a lot of dialogue about his and Karen's feelings for each other. I'm thinking specifically of the moment when she decides that things are bad for him and he needs her. In the past she'd depended on him and that was unhealthy, but now they would support each other.

I love you Matthew Murdock-- in more ways than I can express. You will forever be at the center of all things for me-- the fulcrum to my lever.
Nice sentiment there from Daredevil #1, but part of a break-up letter, so perhaps not ideal

Wouldn't it be easier just to slip in a Punisher photo of yourself into a slide show???
Even if we came up with a cool quote, would it mean anything to you? Or anything to people at your wedding?
You can still show up in a Punisher shirt, just make sure it happens digitally though.

Or you could buy a pair of Punisher Boxers! It could be a wedding night joke between you and that special someone.
And then you could unleash the Punisher!

It really would mean a lot to me actually! I know it might sound a bit sad, but it's true!
Thanks for all the responses as well guys!

marriage is the first sign of divorce...or the first step into satanic rituals with devils to undo your marriage without getting a divorce

You should have a marvel based groom's cake (assuming the wifey to be would want a regular one  )!
My buddy had the hall of justice with all his older DC figures. It was really cool.
Maybe you could have the WWH arena with Gladitaor Hulk giving "the thumbs down" and all the heroes captured etc, lol.
Lots of possibilities!

Scott: "There were times I was lost, and you found me."
Jean: "There were days which were heavy, and you lightened my heart."
Scott: "Though it all, since the day when we met, there was you for me, and me for you. That hasn't changed. That will never change."
Jean: "Times have been good, and times have been good, and times have been bad, and still, our love has endured and truimphed -- I take Scott Summers to be my lawfully wedded husband."
Scott: "I take Jean Grey to be my lawfully wedded wife."
Both: "Through pain and passion, through sorrow and hope, though death and through life. No matter what tomorrow may bring, we will face it together."

If I even thought about this my wife would have slapped me silly.

maybe you could get the Justice of the Peace to welcome true believers.
Or after your vows say nuff said.

Don't get married!
It'll make you seem older, it'll be harder to write good stories about you and the readers won't be able to relate to you.
