They haven't really had a good match-up since the "Ghosts of the Past" storyline (Around issue #400 or so). The Leader appeared once during the Paul Jenkins run, where he apparentally 'died', and then again during the mostly retconned Bruce Jones run....and then he was brought back in She-Hulk, Warbound and I think Thunderbolts, but he's yet to show up in Hulk proper for a proper rematch with the Hulk....

I'd like to see him take ol Jade Jaws on again too but I wish he'd mutate back to the classic "Omnibus style" head as opposed to the "bulbous brain" look.

Maybe after old Greenskin is done with Rulk. So let's say 10 years.

While I'd like to see the Leader again one day, I think in general the Hulk could stand to use a new Rogues Gallery. I think he's outgrown/outpaced most of his classic foes, though maybe not a guy like the Leader.

I loved Leader when he was written by Peter David.I would love to see him appearing not only in Hulk but also in other titles. The Leader looks like a character that would fitting in FFverse. He would make a good rival for Reed Richards.

I'd like to see The Leader return to even greater heights than ever before.

IMO, Leader should be sitting alongside the likes of Doom, Magneto and Red Skull as serious threats to the heroes of Earth, not just Hulk.

He's one of the smartest beings on the planet, has awesome telepathic and telekinetic powers, and has a self-made army of nigh indestructible Humanoids at his disposal.

Bring back Gammaworld as his base of operations, or even create a new one in a country he's managed to conquer.

It would be cool to see him bring in his own team of Gamma-themed villains as his elite hit-squad/enforcers too.
With his scientific genius and technology, I'd like to see him bring back Maestro as his partner in crime. The last anyone saw of Maestro was way back when Maestro's soul was possessing the Destroyer Armour, and some Asgardian trolls had possession of his body. After a battle with the Hulk, Maestro's body was buried along with the trolls under a collapsing canyon, never to be seen again.
An army of Humanoids could dig the body out, and Leader's tech and science can bring the Maestro back to life.

Failing that, he could bring back the Abomination, and also elevate him to his former awesomeness (thanks Jeph Loeb, you hack! First Sabretooth now Abomination? Stop killing cool villains!!).

A revamped Harpy, a new and improved Bi-Beast, a return of the Wildman, and recruit the U-Foes to bolster the ranks (they're sitting on their arses doing nothing at the moment, so why not?)

But ultimately, elevate the Leader into a world-class player, and have him interacting with the big wigs of the villain world.

If Osborn's got his Cabal (Doom, Namor, Loki, White Queen, Red Hood), then how about a second, equally potent team to challenge them.

Leader, Mandarin, Red Skull, Count Nefaria, Apocalypse and Baron Strucker. The New World Order.

So much potential.

I totaly agree, the bulbous look makes him look like he contacted something bad. Also reducing his stature would be good.

Face Persona:
The Leader is Rulk!!!! You heard it here first.
The Leader hasn't been used well since the Ghosts of the Past storyline. He could be a mega bad guy as he is aware of all the plans on the planet. Bring him back. Bring back Madman, Bring back the U-Foes, Bring back Piecemeal, Bring back SpeedFreak, bring back Betty, bring back Sabra, and bring back Glorian...

The bulbous look is 1000% better than the stretch head look.

I'm sure Hullk will be tangling with the Leader if they convince Ed Norton to do Hulk 2.

I could see the Leader teaming up with Cranio one day.

4 heads is better than one.

I heartily endorse this statement.

SpeedFreak would be tricky (or eventually they'll have revived everyone from Stamford except Nita and Microbe), but I always thought he was cool.

The Leader giving some organisation to Abomination, SpeedFreak, Madman & The U-Foes would provide a major challenge for the Hulk. He might even have to call in The Pantheon to help (hint, hint). I know with Abomination, Madman and Ironclad that's a bit muscle-heavy, but let's be honest - this is the Hulk we're talking about. And with Leader, Vapor, X-Ray, Vector and SpeedFreak you'd have a good range of other powers.

He's actually wearing a yellow ring, right now (or was).

I would like to see The Leader resurrect Hammer and Anvil. Two lesser known Hulk villians who were killed by the Scourge back in Marvel Fanfare. Since the chain that links Hammer and Anvil is linked by alien energy what's to say that when they were shot the bullet didn't put them into some kind of comatose state and is slowly regenerating their internal organs. Bring back Hammer and Anvil.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him show up in Loeb's Hulk run.

4 heads is better than one.

then hulk would always be 4 steps behind them.

It always seemed stupid that leager was so smart but he could never figure out a way to defeat the hulk.

Yeah, that sounds right. Considering Stane's son in Invincible this summer, and the showing Abomination made in Hulk, they are probably going to keep that trend up. Until then, they should try either re-imagining some classic characters like the Captain America series (ie. making Batroc the leaper a solid villain), or invent new ones (other than Rulk).

But I just dont want the leader to show up right now. The Hulk comic is just not working, other than through its art and action. The plot is just going nowhere, and it feels like its out of continuity. The only actual substantial story the Hulk has been in is in the Mighty Avengers. This current thing with the Grandmaster just doesnt make sense, and the plot is non-existant. I want the Hulk to be a bit more involved with the rest of the Marvel U, instead of being in basically another world.
