What happened to the rest of The Pirates of Coney Island mini series? It stopped at #6 almost 2 years ago. It was only suppose to be 8 issues long. What gives?!

I saw a post from Rick Spears the series writer on myspace saying the final issues will be done. now it's just a waiting game
I miss it too, it was a badass series
