X-FORCE and GotG are more or less completely different titles, now.
I don't object to renumbering when series were somewhat arbitrarily reset to a new #1 in order to drum up sales, but when a title was legitimately canceled and had a good long time off . . . pointing out what the numbering "should" be (cf. SHE-HULK #100) is one thing, but actually renumbering seems to be a little disingenuous.

I'm not sure if Iron Man should be renumbered, given how Volume 4 and Volume 5 ran concurrently for five months.
I'm also not sure if Wolverine should be renumbered, given its transition to "Dark Wolverine" in the next few months.
Finally, I don't expect Avengers to become "Avengers" again (old numbering, or perhaps a new #1) intact until the film's release in 2012. If it's old numbering, it'll spring out of New Avengers, as Marvel has long said it would. Then again, there's always the chance that New Avengers #97 (I believe?) could become Avengers #600, which is due out in (I believe) late 2012/early 2013, after the release of the movie.

well hulk is becoming #600 while herc is staying the same number
so Wolverine: weapon X could be renumbered to 300

Same with Nova too, since there was 8 or so years between volumes. approaching #75 too!!
renumbering black panther bugs me as one of the more recent titles being rebooted. I mean the stories continued from the 2 volumes, other than a "new" back planther taking over it should still stay within the numbering...grrr:evilangry:

I would think that Mighty Avengers would have been renumbered.
After all, the cast is completely diferent, the tone is completely diferent, the entire direction of the book is diferent, with the only thing staying constant being the title.
I am not a fan of renumbering, but at lest this is a case where it would make sense.

Marvel didn't renumber New Warriors and Black Pantherwhen they has the chance.
So besides X-Factor they can't renumber anything at the moment.
Next is Ms.Marvel after a few years and Generation X and Alpha Flight if they do new titles

they should renumber books every year so we can tell how late they are.

Is T-Bolts on it's original numbering again? If not I'm guessing that might be next.
Deadpool would be another option, but there it gets fuzzy - do you count C&DP or Agent X?
Excalibur might also be a possibility.
(Plus Iron Man, X-Factor and Wolvie as already mentioned).
After that I can't see what they COULD renumber.

what about Punisher?
Punisher with MAX series is way past 200 and without is 3-4 years to 200.
Punisher War Journal is 106 issues so no renumbering here

So I was exceptionally bored today and wondered, with the recent Thor renumbering and the upcoming Hulk, Daredevil and Captain America renumberings, what would the rest of the Marvel line of comics look like renumbered. Remember, I was exceptionally bored. Please forgive me.
Anyway, I took mini-series and ongoings into account, but not spin-offs, so no Punisher: War Journal or Wolverine: Origins. Subjective and debatable! Also, this was very cursory so if there were any volumes I missed, oh well. I also didn't do books with the same title but with vastly different teams/characters/plots, so no Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Force or X-Factor.
All in all I probably would only expect Iron Man to get renumbered anytime soon (as many of these series have just recently been relaunched... but then again, Thor was at 12 it was renumbered and Hulk will be at 17 or so when it gets renumbered, so who knows.)
I'm not sure how I feel about the whole renumbering thing, as while it is neat to acknowledge the vast history of characters and runs that came before, it does meddle up understanding about what is going on for newcomers!
Anywhere, here's my list, in no particular order, subject to change/correction/derision.

I like renumbering when it is a big character that changed numbers for no reason.
Daredevil really had no reason to start over again even though it was Marvel knights. They could have done it without the label.
Hulk is a good example he was kicked out of his book. He should have stayed there and Hercules could have had a number 1.
Captain America should have stayed on with numbering as well.
Thor died so it made sense for his book to go away. But I would have kept his new numbers since it was not all Thor anyways (the first ?87? issues were Journey into mystery, and it was also Journey into Mystery during Reborn).
Having continued numbers doesn't just look cool but makes it easier to keep track of reading order. New numbers should only come into place when the character was gone for a long long time.

Only 26 Issues Until 150Dude, that's pretty awesome math!!!You forgot Deadpool has two 4issue miniseries, though.
Maybe you can more like Man-Thing, She-Hulk, Howard the Duck, Moon Knight, etc.

All of those mentioned above have a good chance of hitting issue 100 except Ms. Marvel.
Title is in the sales basement and will only get worse with Karla Sofen the psycho bitch running the show.

Those last three won't happen. There was too much time between them and they are new series.
Avengers isn't one of them. It's a new series. Eventually they will go back to the original series and pick up where they left off in the numbering.

only problem with that is the 93 issues from 1990 arent about Johnny Blaze as ghost rider.....
Combine that with the massive retcon that 2006 series has added.......

That said, I don't think it makes sense to count mini-series. They're a separate thing.
