I'd be all for that ;). But I'd really like to see a Quasar Omnibus. How many issues are usually in one volume?

The series of Quasar would fit comfortably into two ombnibi. As awesome as that would be, I can't imagine there being much demand for the second one.How many issues are usually in one volume?Thirty issues, give or take. The Miller DAREDEVIL omnibus had thirty-three, the Brubaker CAP omnibus had the equivalent of about twenty-eight, and so on.Who here would like to see a captain marvel omnibus?
i myself would love an omnibus of PAD's work on captain marvel.I wouldn't object to seeing the trades, especially for the second volume, come back into print, but I'm not sure it needs to be omnibused.

I'd prefer an omnibus of the original Captain Marvel stories, say issues 1-34 (up to the end of Starlin's run) plus Marvel Superheroes 12-13.

I think a Thanos Ominbus is both more likely and a better read.

what would be included in a thanos omnibus?Marvel hasn't done any character-specific omnibuses. That said, if I were putting together an omnibus of Thanos stories (and some Warlock and Captain Marvel for Starlin-y context) . . .
IRON MAN #55
MARVEL FEATURE #12
LOGAN'S RUN #6 (backup)
CAPTAIN MARVEL #25-34
AVENGERS #125
STRANGE TALES #178-181
WARLOCK #9-11, 15
AVENGERS ANNUAL #7
MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE ANNUAL #2
THE DEATH OF CAPTAIN MARVEL
SILVER SURFER v2 #34-38, 44-50
THANOS QUEST #1-2
INFINITY GAUNTLET #1-6
WARLOCK & THE INFINITY WATCH #1
That's two decently sized omnibuses, with DoCM as the break-point between the two. If I had to strip it down to just one big omnibus . . .
CAPTAIN MARVEL #25-33
AVENGERS ANNUAL #7
MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE ANNUAL #2
SILVER SURFER v2 #34-35, 38, 44-47
THANOS QUEST #1-2
INFINITY GAUNTLET #1-6

The Wolverine Omnibus came out today and that has all his major character works from his early age in it. The Punisher Omnibus should be coming out soon as well as a Gambit Omnibus and both of those will cover several series. But spot on with what they will put in the volume.

If they really edited the Gambit story down, it could be a kick ass Omnibus. The art alone Kubert, Madureira, and Lee would be worth it.
X-men
8 - Bishop vs Gambit
24 - Gambit/Rogue relationship
33, 38 Sabertooth/Gambit story
45 - Sinister Gambit Rogue Iceman story
58 - Joesph vs Gambit
Uncanny X-men
266/267 - The Orphanmaker Shadowking story line
275-277 - The Sh'iar storyline
326 - Gambit vs retarded Sabertooth
348-350 - Artic saga
And no they aren't doing another Punisher Ominbus yet but it seems likely. Omnibi tend to be collections of multiple trades and they have most the Punisher stuff already out.

well the marvel two in one annual is the end to a storyline and might not make sense with just that from the storyline in an omnibus

well the marvel two in one annual is the end to a storyline and might not make sense with just that from the storyline in an omnibusWell, yeah. Like I said, that's my sub-optimal, "if I had to cut it down to around 800 pages" list. It's the original Thanos/Captain Marvel storyline and Infinity Gauntlet, with the bare minimum of connective tissue.
That said, the two annuals have a decent amount of recap.

Count me in for wanting a Quasar Omnibus, but I don't see it happening. I'd just be happy with trades or hard covers for Quasar.

Okay my official answer is: There isn't enough material yet, I think there's more to the story yet to be told.

There are sixty-two issues, plus MARVEL SUPERHEROES #12-13 and the DEATH OF graphic novel. That's exactly enough material for two omnibuses, if Marvel was interested. Beginning, middle, and end, all in two nice, large hardbound volumes.

Perhaps they could do a "Captain Marvel?" omnibus, and include his various appearances as a confused soul (Silver Surfer #63), alternate reality version (the first Peter David series, #11), the recent one-shot, miniseries and Thundberbolts issues featuring Skrull-Vell, and maybe even the shambling corpse versions we've seen in the lousy Warlock miniseries by Tom Lyle and the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy. Not enough for an ominbus, but they could get a nice trade out of it.

Peter David's Captain Marvel run was great! I'd welcome any new opportunity to get the material back out there.

I think there is another chapter in the whole Captain Mar-Vell saga that needs to be written before a true omnibus can be sincerely put out there, however if it is history you want, this guy is one of the best historians online on this underrated character with fanbase that just doesn't give up, and has a chronological list of appearances and so forth, that is worth printing out...
You can find it at:

The guy really did his honework on Captain Marvel, excellent work.
As far as the P. David thing, that's something seperate, nothing personal, whatever floats your boat is cool, I mean it is what it is...I guess, but that's cool, different strokes for different folks...but when you say Captain Marvel, the original Mar-Vell, comes to mind, at least for me, nothing personal (if a Genis thing came out cool) and I'm assuming that's what the topic was? Were they to put out a Marvel Omnibus on The Original Captain Marvel (Captain Marvel I in Marvel history, CM III in comics as a whole), I just think there's more to the story yet to be written that could really be something special in comics, and this guy's site is a good point of reference.

I think a few people here haven't realized that the original question was do you want to see an omnibus collection of Captain Marvel ... the series from Peter David .... NOT the original Captain Marvel series that was published in the early days of Marvel.
