After seeing the WATX-season 1 finale on CBBC, I have to say that I'm now rooting for Scott and Emma even more then I already did.
So even if/when Jean returns to the comics, I'm still hoping they'll stay together. Even if we have to endure more of their porn in our beloved pages.
Jean can hook up with Angel or someone... ('cos I like Wolverine with Dom)
Who's with me?
BTW, Craig Kyle I honour you, because of your plotting, character depth and wit. As both X-force and WATX are my favourite X-men outings right now.
They're both freakin' ICONIC!!!
Cheers!

Too bad that the ending of Wolverine and the X-men make it very hard for them to be together in the cartoon too. I wonder if Emma comes back in season 2, it would be a waste to not have her on the show anymore

You get CBBC/BBC iplayer in the Netherlands?
I agree, the cartoon made me like them more as a couple.
Currently, they just annoy me as a couple, but with Cyke's pre-Messiah complex characterization and Emma with her Morrison era characterization they make a great couple and compliment eachother really well.
I think, while Jean/Scott is a simply epic relationship, by 2001 they just grew out of it. Their personalities changed, they had different goals and different ways of doing things... they may still love eachother but the relationship just couldn't work anymore.

She will return, I saw the figure of a human when the Pheonix took off and exploded, right in the centre. And Emma's characterisation was wayyyyyyy too good to not have her back!
Yes we get CBBC in the Netherlands, don't know what you mean with an iPlayer though.
Who else thinks Wanda will go off in Season 2, not HoM madness, but earthshaking madness? Let's dish about this cartoon, I'm bored.....

Ems will be back if it is as a Horsemen or what I'm not sure but anyway...funny you mention Wanda. The last few episodes practically screamed a HoM breakdown in the near future.
Funny watching the show... it made me WANT Jean back.
Exact opposite reaction you had.
Emma having a change of heart cannot be trusted. Once a woman is evil she is evil.:evilangry:

Jean should have dumped Bore Summers ages ago.

Is that before or after she kept dying on him?

Jean's only ever died once when Grant Morrison killed her, mr NOT SO clever. And even if she did, who can blame her. I think death is better than being stuck with some guy that's just some dumb faithful dog. Woof! Woof! I'm Scott Summers, I must keep the X-Men together because it's the only thing I know in life.

Well technically she died once BEFORE Morrison killed her, but I agree with your point. It wasn't the number of times she died that gave her the rep she has, it was the severity of continuity altering that her return created.

Okaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy,back on track....
Please don't turn this into a "how many times did Jean actually die" thread....
I want to talk about Scott, Emma and Jean from WATX and WATX in general.
And besides that, everytime someone writes down the name Jean, I get flashbacks of TAS when Scott would call her name dramatically every 5 seconds....
WATX almost got that close too....

Well you opened it up by asking who is with you when Jean returns to the comics.....just saying....
P.S. Happy St. Paddys Day all, I'm off to party.

perhaps this thread should be closed and another Wolverine and the X-Men general thread opened, because this one is just going to turn into another Jean-Scott-Emma smackdown

I like Scott and Emma more than Scott and Jean. Is it possible to like it even more from watching WATXM?

Jean should have dumped Bore Summers ages ago.But if Jean didn't have a introverted, socially-awkward, emotionally repressed boyfriend/husband, how would she have fooled people into thinking she has a personality? It was a simple but effective ruse on her part. Like going to a club with an ugly friend to make yourself look good by comparison. Cyclops' legendary stiffness made everyone wonder what a passionate, fun woman like Jean saw in nerd like him, without realizing that Jean only seems passionate and fun if you compare her to Scott.

And then she would hang out with Wolverine and everyone would comment how they were so similar and passionate...by this logic, Wolverine is also dull as dishwater? There are X-Men without personalities (ie: Colossus, Angel, Longshot, Bishop, most of Liefeld's X-Force, Havok, Lobdell's Rogue, 90's and Hudlin's Storm, Fraction's Emma) but Jean never seemed like one of them.
