Just finished reading Killer of Demons and I really enjoyed it. Maybe not the most original story but I liked the writing and I am excited for the next issue.

For anyone else who picked this up what did you think?

It was alright. Most of the attempts to satire the marketing business and cigarette ads fell pretty flat.

But the art really fits the tone of the book and the violence is plentiful and well done, so I'll stay on board for issue 2 to see if things pick up.

I dug it. The art was just cartoony enough to make it fun, but really good. The story itself was interesting. The pushing of products was over the top, but what would you expect from an office full of demons? It fit the scenes in my opinion. Looking forward to the next two issues definitely.

I was looking forward to this, being a fan of both Yost and Wegener, but I haven't been able to track down a copy at any of my local shops. From the promotional stuff, it looks like the main guy is either delusional, or he's really killing demons. Is that about the gist of it?

NO! NOOOO! I refuse to look.

You already got me on board, Yost. I want every issue to be fresh the moment I crack it open.

A lot of fun. Not very deep, and seems a little like a movie pitch, but fun nonetheless. And it looks really cool. The art fits the story very well and I already enjoyed Wegners style on Atomic Robo. Looking forward to #2, which seem to ship really quick after #1.

Do you work in marketing? It completely reminded me of my old office... especially the scene where they updated branding poorly and then everyone laughed, slapped each other on the back, and were completely self-congratulatory about it.

I think they did a great job. Easily a mini-series worth getting for the story, art and the fun.

When I said that, despite Issue 1 leaving me cold, I'd hang around for Issue 2 to see if it picked up, this is exactly the kind of issue I was hoping for. Kicking off with a joke about pedophiles in MMOs, I thought the whole issue was a great sequence of moments. Any comic that can elicit more than a handful of chuckles is a-okay in my book. And the art, again, sets the perfect tone.

Scott Wegener's art is pretty fantastically fun!

#2 was awesome, i'm loving the series and will continue breaking my rule of not buying comics that cost more than 3 bucks for this title.

Who was the colorist for Atomic Robo? I think I prefer his/her colors with Wegner's work.

As far as the book, I'm looking forward to getting a collected edition. The winning combo of creators alone has me sold. Still, it's nice to see that people here like the first issue so far.

Me too! I started a pretty firm policy of trade waiting $3.99 titles... but Killer of Demons is an exception. One thing is that each issue is 100% new story; it's not padded with reprints, or "special files", or whatever. It's one of the few titles I've seen with the $3.99 price tag that actually seems worth it.

Thanks, guys. Each issue is 32 (or more!) pages of story, not some weak 22 pages for the same price. :)

Killer of Demons! More value for your dollar!!

Awesome of you to stop by. Killer Of Demons is completely worth the price. Yost you rule. You and Kyle are hell of a team on X-Force and Wolverine and the X-men. Can't wait to see you on Red Robin. And back to this series... excited to see how this twisted little story ends up.

It's Ronda Pattison, and her colouring is awesome.

Make sure your lords and masters don't hear you describing their pricing policy as 'weak'.

Issue 3.

It hit stands this week.

And. It was awesome incarnate.

Seriously, has there been any other book with this much hilarious and quotable dialogue?

My fav went something like this (warning quote from issue 3 ahead) --

"My biggest mistake was not killing you when I first had a chance. Your biggest mistake is that Flop's shoes are untied." -Dave, preparing for the final showdown

Killer of Demons is by far one of the best comic book series I have ever read. I heard about this series years ago on a little show called Variant Edition and even back then when it was just a whisper, before Wegner was the acclaimed Atomic-Robo artist he is now I thought it sounded awesome.

I really hope we get a second Killer of Demons series.
