I'm not sure I like Ink narrating. I mean, I'll wait till I read it before I judge it completely, but I just dont see why he's friends with the X-Men. When did that happen? When did he become one of them?

Is it? I guess that's the disadvantage of a character who always wears a burqa... when her face is finally revealed, no one's sure who it is.
I'll be curious to learn where she got fire powers, though.

Hmm... maybe Ink will give her a secondary fire/explosive power when he tries to cure her??

We also saw her wear sexy pjs in New X-Men. Why? I have no idea. But its a comic book, so of course, all girls must be scantily clad when sleeping, even when it makes no sense at all.
And we've seen her face a few times before. Whenever she's alone with girls, she takes her hood off. And in the battle against Nimrod, it was burnt away, and the same when she fought Belasco in Limbo.

Not sure i like Dust as a villian.
So Guggs is giving everyone what they were whising, Ink is getting what you all want him to get. Doubt that healing power of his would work on sand or glass...
and lol at Dani's face in the first page!
On the future:
lol at Ink's tattos, where's that pheonix one?
love old Emma Frost! so she has romance or flirting with several X-Men already: Forge, Banshee, Namor, Cyclops, Wolverine and Piotr. She's like the female Wolverine.
and what's with Baywatch Anole?

This makes me sad. Ever since Anole joined the cast the qualitiy has gotten a lot better and I love the art in the present period. This looks like a great ending though.

I'm sure Dust finds a way to make her sand hot in the future which may burn so strongly that it seems to burn flesh off as well as flay it right off the bones. Or maybe she gets some sort of nuclear charge to her sand, like explosive sand. It could be really cool.
Dust is badass. I really like future versions of those characters, they all look great! Old Emma may be ugly, but she is interesting to say the least. Anole is fiiiine.

It looks like Ink is narrating this last issue, fair enough considering that it feels like this entire series has been about him.
So in that alternate future Dust died and came back as a stereotypical supervillainess.
Hopefully that isn't how Guggenheim plans to end the series in 616.

My Thoughts:
1.- Ink, be a good Mary Sue (Peter sue?) heal Dust and dissapear from our lives FOREVER
2.- Old Emma has had a serious problem with her implants. What is up with her boobs?
3.- Oooh... So bad Dust is a Dominatrix? Arghs.
Sometimes, twelve issues are too much

This issue got me excited, just like last issue.
i am sad this is going, despite a plethora of very problematic past issues.
Evil, slinky Dust is a fun idea. i am glad he's going with it.
Ink....i have warmed up to him more in past issues, despite that awful idea of a phoenix tattoo. Guggenheim had a story in him about this character....i can tell....i'm just not sure an X-Comic was the place to do it.
Diamondheart....i like it :).....
Well Anole....You...err...ripened in Your adult years!
Despite the deep problems of this book, i felt Guggenheim had some wonderful ideas going on. i wish they could have synthesized a bit better.
Ah well...hopefully these characters will find homes and soon.
i hear great things about Guggenheim elsewhere...him. Matt Fraction, past writers....obviously writing an X-Book is something not everyone can do.

Agreed, Mullet Diver. You always find a good measure between pros and cons, which makes you easy to agree with. I think Ink would have worked as a new character in Avengers Initiative or something. Or maybe even in a Marvel Icon book, completely detached from the X-Men.

i agree...Ink might have worked there, or in a mini.
Heck, perhaps if he wasn't introduced as such an unlikable character.

For some reason I thought the mysterious skank was Dani Moonstar.
But then I thought...she doesn't look Native American, but I guess that's about right.
ANYWAYS the art looks awesome! Sandavol, Olivier, Bonet, and Arreola should have been on the title from the beginning.

I really like Greymalkin. The Xavier ancestory thing was a weird little tidbit that I'm glad has been left alone, but I do like the little bits of character that have formed in this series. A freak who is a nice guy, though not exactly debonair, reluctantly trying to rebound from the shadows and take action. I'm into him.

I do not like Greymalkin, though I must be one of the only people to have such a zealous dislike for him as I've heard other people mention the fact that they like him.
Though, Guggenheim must be applauded: he actually suceeded in creating an inane character devoid of the slightest of likeable human qualities, Ink. BORING.

Its not like Wolf Cub died from gestational diabetes, he died in combat like most superheroes. Granted, it wasn't the most original death, but it wasn't for any reason.
The title hasn't been perfect, but its been one of the few consistently enjoyable X-Titles since issue 7. Its not as brilliantly crafted as X-Force, but I enjoy it for its simplicity. Guggenheim finally gave me sufficient reason to be interested in Dust beyond my initial thoughts of "this girl has potential!" during Morrison's run and the Hellions miniseries.

He died for no good reason, that's the thing. It wasn't exactly a glorious death, and Rockslide and Dust were present to fight Pierce.
Simple? It's insulting that Marvel expects us to pay $3 for crap that's as painfully obvious and pathetic as Young X-Men. The Pierce reveal wasn't exactly unexpected.

i liked Graymalkin...and thought his origin story was interesting. Anole and Rockslide might not have been as spot on as KY, but it's still something i want to see continue. Cipher is a a character with potential. Dust and Donald Pierce was also an interesting subplot. The current arc has plenty of neat things going on..the last issue actually gave me chills..almost as much as an X-Force issue.
Yes, the comic probably needed to be cancelled. Nonetheless...i didn't see it as a total waste.
Even when it flopped...it was never dull. Coming online and sharing WTF's with fellow readers about "cuz" lingo, ex machina Wolfcub, 70s GI Joe artwork, the churchbase which was utilized in probably a page and a half, Dani Moonstar running around during battle like a cracked Project Runway model, Greymalkin twitching and talking to no one in the corner, and of course....the phoenix tattoo.
Coming online to discuss the outrageously off events was great entertainment.
Even at its worst, Young X-Men, unlike our currently flagship Uncanny, is never dull for a second.
The last few issues of Uncanny....i have to fight from skimming the pages.

HI PACH. :<3
Yeah she did, Magma made her into glass.
and then Wolf Cub defeated her,... by clawing her,.... in her heat form....
What did any of this have to do with Blindy?
No but she was sent to fight Dani, for some inexplicable reason.
She was sent to fight Dani so Ink could take her out.
Pierce never wanted a precog on the team who could foil his plans. Rockslide insisted Ruth join.
Oh yes!
You're correct!
But still...

Young Xmen was probably the worst comic book ive ever read....and I used to read Hama's Gen X.....how this book followed New Xmen baffles me, New Xmen was getting pretty good...esp the Quest for Magik
but reading about was more enjoyable than uncanny....i was cracking on most of the parts.....i had to stop buying the crap.....it caused laughing pains

Cipher keeps it fresh.
I'm sure she can phase out all of the oil and grime and Aunt Flo's leftover pie.

If it was Guggs plan all along for Dust to turn into that evil woman thing, i'm glad it's getting canceled. but I hate to see Dust and Rockslide not in a book now. having a book that was good for all the wrong reasons and bad for all the right just gave me a headache, i can't say i'll miss it too much.
