View Full Version : De-age the aged: Who deserves to be youth-inized
Twisted Bliss

So, one frequent occurrence in the X-mythos is the elastic aging ability.
Illyana = Aged to teen
Cable = Aged to Granpa
Magneto = Aged to a point he could exist without viagra.
Well who deserves to be de-aged. Emma appears to have had a miraculous de-aging (which has never been seen on-panel, nor discussed....EVER)
Would de-aging some older well established characters give them a chance to shine. Would it re-invigorate their appeal and reboot their personality? Would they be better kept in the 'X-men' proper or shunted to one of the other X-related teams.
Personally I would give a green light to Xavier. Youthinize him, ramp down his powers and make him less responsible. Break him from his "Evil Xavier" past and allow him to move forward....would he have hair ?? Who knows but why not shake things up (give him a faux-hawk)
Thoughts and opinions gratefully received. timbox - just use the litter tray for yours !

i would possibly consider paying attention to a younger banshee.
De-age Xavier, then give him a secondary mutation of telekinesis as a result. Also, he must have hair. That way I can see a young, hot Xavier floating in the air mind-controlling the masses.

All the barely legal teens should be de-aged to support arresting all the old perverts who have disgusting thoughts when they read these comics.
Layla Miller has been judged and should be de-aged back to her younger self.

De-age Sebastian Shaw. He's getting a bit too long in the tooth to be leading a sex club.
And while you're at it, de-age Kitty Pryde when she gets back, so Colossus will continue to find her attractive. He likes 'em young.

Kitty Pryde. Because Marvel haven't de-aged her yet this decade. It's only a matter of time.

Cable. He went from looking like a 30 something who'd had a tough life to a mid 50's guy. i prefer the former.

I liked the young storm.
She was fresh and got away from the whole 'Goddess' baggage.
Plus it would invalidate her marriage to BP...or does Wakanda advocate child brides ?!?

Technically he's already been de-aged... when the Starjammers popped him in that clone body after the Brood Queen took over his original, I'm pretty sure they made it younger. That's why he and Magneto are only middle aged, tops, rather than older than dirt.
Personally I've always wondered why Xavier's psi powers made his hair fall out in his teens when that's never happened to any other powerful telepaths. Not that I think the world is ready for a bald Jean Grey, I'm just saying.

But beign Bald is part of his mutation
I guess his hair could be his secondary. So do you want hair or power?

Xavier used to have an afro, but his telepathic waves got all tangled up in his hair. Thats why he shaves his head now, so the energy can flow freely.

.........hair. I'll take young Xavier with hair over young Xavier who floats. But damn you for making me choose :frown:

Iceman. Writers often portray him like a teenager anyway, so have him look like one. If a writer want to portray him as an adult, just make him older again.
PS: You can replace "Iceman" with "Spider-Man" or "The Human Torch".

Jubilee!!!!!!!!!
This is a winning post - but I would "de age" her to the point BEFORE her daddies sperm & her mommies egg actually met. I would then ensure the Marauders paid a housecall to either one of her parents, thereby ensuring a Jubilee-free world.

Eh? He's already just a bit older-looking than Scott. Xavier has the physical body of a 30-year-old.
Cable. He went from looking like a 30 something who'd had a tough life to a mid 50's guy. i prefer the former.
Heck, when he first appeared, he didn't look a day younger than 70.
because in the Liefeldverse, everyone has tons of wrinkles
Frankly, I don't want anyone deaged. I want more characters aged. I want a teenaged Franklin Richards!

Wolverine probably should be de-aged.. he is always having a younger female companion somehow so he should at least be closer to their age so it does not look like a father and daughter.

Cable should return in his futur timeline, paving the way for a young man coming from the futur, a Nathan Summers sent earlier in his developement. A powerful teenager with the cybernetic parts of Cable, yet retaining the full force of his mother's psy powers. In a way it would be like X-Man reborn, except with a more tangible link to the current X-Men.

DOn't de-age anybody. It is nice to see some people grow up.
Why de-age Wolvie? He has a younger X-23 and a son out there if you want a younger version
People have grown up and had kids
I actually like Cable more as a wise old man, seems to fit his character more.

To be fair, he looked mid 50s when he first appeared in New Mutants, then got suddenly de-aged visually after X-Cutioner's Song.

I'd like to see Cable de-aged (again) too. I didn't mind when Cable became more youthful post-X-Cutioner's Song.
He's way too old now in Cable, and if he and Hope stay in the future and Hope doesn't return until she's a teenager, Cable's going to be ready to retire to a nursing home. He needs to be deaged pronto.

I'd have no objections to a de-aged Forge.
In both animated series Evolution and WATXM he has been younger than his 616 counterpart and to be honest both work well. The youth angle removes the expectation (in my mind at least) that he will be the deus ex machina able to pull the problem solving machine out of his ass at the last minute.

Kind of depends on who is drawing him, though. Olivetti's Cable looks older (50-ish), but Choi's Cable looks relatively young (mid-30's, just with gray hair).

Can't really argue with that.
Xavier was supposed to be de-aged when he was cloned, and Magneto was made younger when he was brought back from babyhood.

De-Age Madison Jeffries. Since when did he get the Mr Fantastic/ Dr Strange grey at temples? He needs some Just for Men! Other than that, I am glad he is at least showing up in the Science Club.

If Forge served in Viet Nam, he's mid-fifties at best. IIRC Jefferies also was in Viet Nam.
