In the past some fans have expressed an interested in seeing what the inside of Mike Mignola's house looks like, more precisely what his book shelves look like. Well one way of finding out is by watching the creator interviews on the Hellboy Animated DVD. But here’s a video interview I found (dated 7/11/08) that actually goes inside the Mignola home and takes a long look at those fabled book shelves. Enjoy!

That's quite some collection he's got there. What I would do if I had all those books...

That's a cool and rich bit of info there.
Great to see where some Hellboy art pieces seem to dwell.
And it sounds like mr. Mike will be happy with how HB2 turned out, which is nice,
especially since it looks to have got received also better than HB1, with the Oscar-nomination and all.
Nice to know that mr. Mike craved some folklore!
And the 'other' character. Would that be Eddie Grey? Or Hellboy's other potential
body from Darkness Calls?
I got too enticed from the info, that I didn't really take a good look at the books.
I saw Conan Doyle. I suppose he was pointing at short story-titles as mentioned
in the Companion.

I never noticed before, but Jakob's Playmobile set makes an appearance too.

I always imagined it would look like the place in "The Universal Machine," complete with giant-brained child skeleton.

This isn't the first time Mignola has made reference to this mysterious back-up character who he had created in case Hellboy ever went down the shitter. Its been so long now since I read it that I don't remember where it came from but I seem to recall him saying at some point that that character was called Joe Golem, and that his story would be set in the ruins of New York city.

Anybody else remember anything similar?

I remember the name... but that's it.

Googling Joe Golem in relation to Mignola I found this http://www.oafe.net/poe/mez_hbc2r.php
It's mentioned briefly like 8 paragraphs down...

Read them of course!

Clearly  What I meant was I'd probably never leave my room again for all the reading.

Wow, that's really neat.
And yeah, the Hellboy Playmobil box is in there :)

Anyone know what this statue is,
or who made it?

I think I asked about this statue in the first thread about this video and CBM answered that it was made by someone from France. If I remember it correctly... This older thread should be here somewhere...

That statue was a gift to Mike from a fan in France. We were over there at Album about 3 years ago and someone just gave it to him...it's really beautiful and heavy and one of his favorites!

This statue looks really great. I don't think there are any better pictures in net, never seen it in sculpting forums.
