True, the show floor in 2008 was less crowded than 2007, but the panels/presentations were still jam-packed and impossible to get into. It'll be interesting to see if they try anything different to control the crowds this year.

I think this is a good year for me to take a break from SDCC. I wish I could go to Emerald City though. That sounds awesome.

I'm willing to take 5-6 requests, if other people are similarly willing to jump in and help.

I highly recommend this! It's quick and easy, and since most of us bring a wad of cash to spend anyway, you'll already be in the spending mindset (I sure am a good little consumer). Saves a load of hassle and worry down the road.

The folks that help out aren't obligated to be swag mules for the rest of us. They do it out of the goodness of their hearts and their dedication to Hellboy and this board. Please show a little more respect for them as they are a huge help to those of us who can't attend.

I quit going to the Comic-Con in 2001. It's not that I didn't enjoy it, it just cost too much. The convention itself is priced ok. It's the hotels that are outrageous. I noticed that they raise their rates for the Comic-Con. A motel 6 that the normal rate is $50 will be between $250 to $300 a night. The last time I went to the convention for the full thing the hotel was over $1200 for our stay. Too many times all I could afford at the convention was the freebies, and maybe $30 of merchandise if that.
For my vacations now I usually go to Las Vegas. I can go there 2 to 3 times a year for less than the amount it would cost me to go to San Diego for 5 days.
Wouldn't mind going to San Diego again, but I'd have to win the jackpot in Vegas first!

Does anyone know if Mike Mignola will have his own booth this year at Comic Con, like he did last year and the year before or if he'll just be at the DarkHorse booth? I couldn't find any info either here or on the Comic Con web site.

It's something that just snowballed...basically the show is big fans of Mike's and we are big fans of the show...we went to a taping last season and met some of the people behind the scenes and the rest is history...

Sounds really cool. Although I've never caught an episode, or know what SDCC-panels would or could be like. I hope there will be footage!

Mikolaj bowed out, so I have an opening in my list.
I PM'd Andrew Hein as a few pages back I saw he was someone wanting a book/print but haven't heard anything this week, I'm trying to get the money taken care of by this weekend.

So if there's anyone left that needs one, first person to PM me will be on my list.

Just wanted to update everyone before SD so you are not surprised by anything...
1...We will be selling a small amount of art...don't ask me what you will see when you get there!
2...Mike is cutting down his time at the table this year since it's just too much for one person to handle (he's getting old)!!!...He will definately be there...
Wednesday - all night
Thursday-mostly all day
Friday - morning only
Saturday - morning only
Sunday - morning only
This is our booth schedule...he will be doing assorted panels and a Dark Horse Signing...I'll post that schedule after we get one more confirmation!
3...He will not be doing sketches this year...sorry.

I just found this forum. I spoke to Mike at the last Emerald City Con and he said he had leftover mini-prints from past Wondercons. Mike was up to bringing them if he remembered. I just wanted to see if you folks were still willing to bring some along. Can't wait to see you all in SDCC.
