I think its going to be a stunning book. I just have a feeling

I have a feeling it'll be stunning, too, but that's because of J.H. Williams III's incredible artwork, not Rucka's incredible writing.
Now if you meant that it'll emerge as the flagship Batman book, I doubt it. I think the majority of the focus is going to be on Morrison and Quitely's Batman and Robin.

Not really. I always thought his Kane story was the weakest thing in 52.

Probably not. Batwoman's a lame character.
I think I'll be most entertained by the peripheral books: Gotham City Sirens and Streets of Gotham.

It will be very good.
I always feel no matter how many eisners rucka is awarded people will still buy mark millar or brian bendis comics, and it's a shame, because Rucka is a true craftsman.
he is highly underrated.
His Renee Montoya story in 52 was incredibly emotional and well executed.

There's quite a bit of room to work with Batwoman, as a character and a Gotham fixture. And I really hope we get some Question presence.
Rucka's quite good and, in my opinion, writers women stronger (and stronger women) than Dini, so if I was choosing between the two - and Gotham City Sirens didn't grate on me as a title - I'd go the Batwoman route.
The beauty is, we don't have to choose. One doesn't have to be better than the other between all these books, because they're all going to come out anyway! (Yes, that's a simple thing, but it makes me happy.)
And I hope, if Batwoman takes off, some of Grayson's aborted material sees the light of day, too.

i think its gonna be one of the top ones of the bat books that for sure at least from what we've seen so far. No telling though. Only time will tell

I think it'll probably end up being my favorite. Rucka excels at a lot of things, two of which include writing strong female leads and writing gritty, crime oriented plots. Looks to me like this Detective Comics run will incorporate both very nicely.
Probably not. Batwoman's a lame character.
I agree. Especially given the fact that she was mainly created for 'pc' reasons.

Why, is Winick now writing everything aside from 'Tec?

It should be great - Rucka's a talented writer and Williams is one of the best artists working today. I don't know if it'll be better than Batman & Robin... but chances are, it'll at least be the second best Bat book on the shelves.

I disagree. I think that he’ deserves all the accolades that he’s gotten so far. And so has Bendis and Millar.
I think Rucka’s is a decent writer, Provided he can stick to telling a good story. It’s when he feels a need to get on a soap box or show off how much knowledge he has. That’s when he just looses me. Because the stories either turn into a civics lesson or meander.
No to say that Bendis and Millar also tend to get a bit preachy (see Civil War). But not the extent of Rucka.

What else is he writing aside from Batman?
If Rucka can succeed in making Batwoman interesting then 'Tec should be good. But that's a big "if."

That sums up my feelings too DON, She was a complete bore in 52 and I didn't care much about her, I want Bruno manhiem to eat her.
But Greg has a history building characters from the ground up--Renee Montoya, Crispus allen, eect ect ect

The art alone will be better than anything else happening in the Bat titles.

Rucka is easily one of DC's best writers and I have no doubt that this will be a great read. The fact that he's coupled with JH Williams is just icing on the cake IMO. This is without a doubt the bat books I'm most interested in.

I really expect it will do well, but I'm anticipating Gotham Sirens more. I've been waiting for someone to give Batwoman some much needed attention ever since her debute. I can't wait to see what Rucka does with her and having Rucka and Dini both writing characters I love is great.
I'm thrilled to find there will be some part of the bat universe I can enjoy since I have no interest in anything else Morrison writes regarding anything Bat-related. Compound that with me just really despising the way Quitely draws and It leaves me with absolutely no interest in Batman & Robin... Actually even if it wasn't Morrison writing it I'd likely not buy it just because I don't ever want to read about Batman's snot nosed "son" again.

I've never been a big fan of Kate, but wow, this is a brilliant creative team.
I feel unworthy. I shouldn't be allowed to look at something that beautiful.

Rucka is amazing. I had no idea how prolific he was, and had written so many novels. Queen and Country is brilliant. He is in my opinion the best writer in the Bat book team.

She's rich, beautiful, violent and in the closet. Has a great costume and good hair. What's not to love (other than the lack of development in her few appearances so far)?
I just really want to see her and The Question walking tall, kicking ass, and taking names while Bruce Wayne is out of town.

Yep, that's enough for me.
Between this and Batman & Robin, June should be a kickass month for the Batbooks.

Hmm, by what criteria? Sales? Fan response? Writing? Artwork?
Offhand, I'd guess that the only one it has a chance at is artwork. But there's a lot of people who love Quitely too (I'm not one of them.)

This is certainly the book that I am looking forward to the most and anticipate to be my favorite, based largely on the creative team but also on the character's potential. Kate is a character who I am eager to learn more about. I find it strange how people refer to her as "lame" and "boring" when she is a character whom we still know next to nothing about and who we really need more information on before making such decisions.

The violent bit. She shouldn't get to wear the Bat if she can't hold her temper.

I don't know. I ee a mixed bag with people's reactions on various sites. Some even outright hate Detective comics now without even reading a single issue that is to come with Batwoman but for me it still remains one of the most anticipated bat books of June and I've even dropped a few titles i normally buy to make room for it

I quite agree. I just don't understand why people judge a character before she gets her chance at character development. I suspected I wouldn't like the direction Morrison was going to go with Batman, but I still was willing to TRY it and find out.
I don't get why people will just right something off without giving it at least a chance.

The Kane story wasn't great, but I didn't particularly dislike it.
I thought the weakest thing in 52 was the cosmic storyline with Animal Man & co.........That, and WWIII.

Greg Rucka is writing it, therefore it goes on my pull list. The title of the book, who's doing the art, what characters are in it, what the book is about... all insignificant details.

It'll look great . . .I might even buy an issue or two for Williams' work. But Rucka will continue to bore the happiness out of me most likely. At least he gets to write a strong lesbian action hero again.

I have not seen a comic quite like that. This could be really special. DC better promote the crap out of it
This is going to be the most good-looking book on the stands.
Errrr... next to Legion of Three Worlds, of course.

Williams is THE best artist working in the medium, and Rucka is one of the best writers. I have high expectations. I also have high expectations of Batman & Robin. DC's two best writers and two best artists are working on these two books, and I expect them to be the two best books DC puts out. I absolutely can't wait.
