Those of you who have been complaining that Nightcrawler has been wallpaper of late should read this issue. He has some lovely lines and a fantastic action scene. Oh, and pre-bullet Kitty Pryde is in the issue as well. CBR's in house review of the issue coincided with mine in that the ending to the mini-series was a slight step down in quality from previous issues. My personal take on that is it's less a fault of the creators and more that the recent status quo for both the X-Men (pre-Messiah Complex) and Spider-Man (the start of BND) has been less than riveting. The story itself mocks some of the elements foreign to the mythology of both characters, like when Spider-Man quips about the X-Men's on campus graveyard (Mercury Tear).
This issue is a must-read for all X-23 fans as the plight of clones is front and center here.

Nightcrawler repeats his bigoted feelings about clones (they are paper plates, chairs, we need not fear them, etc) in reference to X-Raven, the Sinister/Kraven clone with all the powers of the 06 (except for Tessa).
X-Raven's feelings of insecurity are viciously exploited by Cyclops and Spider-Man as well as Nightcrawler.

Is he Kraven the Hunter? Is he a tool of Sinister? Will X-Raven fight his programmed instincts or succumb to them. Read the story to find out.
Poll Question: Should "Claudine" take her half-brother in hand? Give him some guidance?

I think we just found the other half to the new power couple in the Marvel U. Claudine and XRaven.

I liked this issue, but I felt the first two issue were better! As for Kraven, I'm sure he didn't die in the explosion. I hope we see more of him soon. His new look is intriguing. And yes, Claudine should guide him!

Claudine has decided in her wisdom only to emulate Sage.
X-Raven has decided to emulate the other five.
X-Raven is clearly misguided and needs Claudine's help.

Kurt's clonophobia is well established by this point, but kudos to Gage for picking up on it. There's a real track record here though, from taunting X-23 to identity-shaming Scalphunter... Kurt's got a problem.

I don't think the world's ready for Mr. Sinister/Kraven fan fiction.

I'm in no way advocating slash fiction about the two, but I admit this pronunciation carries sexual overtones.

Kurt's got a problem.C'mon, he was only "shaming" Scalphunter to help him realize he's a fully independent, actualized human being. Kurt's more pro-clone than anyone!
...unless I'm missing something. When did he taunt X-23?

It was when she first showed up in Claremont's latest Uncanny run. She slashed Logan across the face (Kurt almost went into conniptions - it was one of the slashiest canon Logurt moments ever. *happysigh* ) and Kurt set off after her, doing his "you can't catch me" routine.
I would scan or at least look up the issue number, but have no time or urge. However, I'm pretty sure that wasn't the REAL X-23. She was all...cute and wide-eyed.

Xraven is horrific.
He brings shame to Claudine, the endless Kraven knock-offs and Mimic in existing.

Xraven is a superb addition to the X-mythos.
Loves it.

I thought the same initially, but upon further reads, I think Kurt was serious. :/
Kurt taunted X-23 during CC's Reload. To be fair though, he was likely confused by his innate attraction to her (this was before Logan outed her clone identity) and she did call him names.

Typical closed-minded dogmatism of a religious zealot.
Magik needs to hurry up and sacrifice Nightcrawler in order to get her soul back.

I thought the same initially, but upon further reads, I think Kurt was serious. :/That's interesting, because I was just the opposite. The first time I read that story, I walked away thinking Kurt was a huge dickhead. It wasn't until someone corrected my interpretation of the story that I saw what I now feel was his true intent: ironically delivered tough-love.

The experiment that is Xraven will go badly when he knocks out an X-Man, buries him alive, impersonates them, and then kills himself.
It is his destiny. Qwerty knew this.
