To offer the same exact deal, one more time.

...uh, no?

Moving on, we've sent the pitch to IDW, which is our fist stop on the Hollow Recovery Tour of 2009, and m second project Dark Zoey is about read to pitch now, as well.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back it, no?

Damn straight.

They just offered the same deal? Either they're only beginning to become desperate or they're just idiotic.

He said he looked at our old contract and saw it had been over a year since it should have been re-done, and felt bad, so wanted to make the offer one more time.

Rightfully so. I doubt even someone with zero experience whatsoever should take an offer like that with such a crappy history.

I know nothing of business offers, but yeah that looks pretty crappy and best of luck to you both. There's no reason to do business with someone who has a history of operating in bad faith.

Have you tried Top Shelf, Larime?

There are companies that don't pull down their trousers and crap a load on the creative talent, right? Somewhere? :frown:

I agree! Chris Staros is a swell guy, with great and diverse taste.

I showed him an original thing, Team Defiant: Zombie Nazis From Outer Space (an Ed Wood/EC Comics/'Americana' take on costumed characters) a few years back, and he told me he'd put it out--if they did superheroes.

I'm good friends with Writer/Editor Sean Taylor from IDW and Gene Simmons, as well, Larime--if you'd like an introduction.

I MAY be wrong, and someone please correct me if I am, but doesn't Top Shelf only do black & white books? I haven't seen much from them, but what I have seen is strictly B&W.

But I do agree, what little I have seen from Top Shelf, they do an excellent job.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Lost Girls and a few other collections. At first I thought I remembered Kolchalka's Monkey Vs. Robot bein' color--but it ain't. It's just so great, it seems like it is.

Thanks for the encouragement and ideas.

Top Shelf doesn't do 'genre' books, as they've told me in the past. They liked it, but passed.

Penny Farthing and Antarctic don't do Mature Readers titles. They both liked it, but passed.

Erik Larson said the concept bored him ( a few years ago), and passed.

Boom! is booked solid and not taking pitches.

I have contacts at IDW and just pitched it there. We'll see what they say.

I don't quite understand that. Every story falls into SOME genre, so what genre are they referring to?

They want non-fantasy - ie., real life, no magic, etc. That's how they explained it back then, anyway.

The publisher of Lost Girls and the upcoming League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen III told you they didn't want fantasy stuff? Oy.

Not in so many words. Like I said, they told me they don't do 'genre' stories. *shrug*
