What's the date set for #39 now?
April 1st for 39, and April 29th for 40

Was it supposed to come out this month? That delay doesn't sound to bad if the issue wasn't supposed to come out this month.

It's only been delayed a week. For the last few months typically GL has been coming out the last week of every month. But next month begins on a Wednesday. Who knows the reasons ... Reis is juggling the main book and all the Blackest Night stuff right now. But anyway ... despite the reason, it's nowhere near as big or frustrating a delay as Legion of Three Worlds, the second half of Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader, or Final Crisis # 6 last month.
I can live with one week. It's the two month ones that kill my enthusiasm.

#39 was supose to be out March 11 if i remember well and 40 April something, now no doubt theyll delayed #40 in May, and the May issue into June.

Nah it was due the last week of March, so it's only a one week delay, but the book already suffered a one month delay between FC: Rage of Red Lanterns and GL #36.
I don't mind a one week delay, what bothers me is how frequent delays are becoming not only on this title but other dc titles too. The Detective Comics delay on "Whatever happened to the caped crusader" is just ridiculous, FC Legion 3 worlds, JSA has also been pushed back a week, L.e.g.i.o.n was a wreck before they axed it.
Ironically Kevin Smith's mini on Batman came out on time.
Crazy world we live in these days.
Oh well, things could be worse, DC could be putting out Marvel quality stories (or lack thereof)

Well that is a bit of a bugger but I can handle it, since I'm sure they are going to make it so that Blackest Night isn't too screwy with the release dates.

I love GL but I really have a feeling that by the end of the year after Blackest Night I might be done with DC, these delays are ridiculous and i've pretty much reached my limit with the entire company.

Unfortunately, I'm becoming more surprised when GL ships on time than when it's delayed.

Well, I guess it was more "on time" than his Black Cat story.

I'd rather it be late instead of a lame fill-in issue, which is what DC usually does.

You know I can wait one week rather well, it isn't like it is life or death that I can't have one of my luxuries, heck I couldn't get 39 right away because the roads were too bad for the truck to get to my city. Just remember good things come to those that wait, for those that can't... well they just get upset.

Us fans cannot be blamed for our reaction against the delay.
But hey, i think it's worth the wait. It's better to get a quality issue rather than a rushed one. ^__^

Well there is a big difference between "Oh damn, I would really have liked to read it when it was first advertised" to "I can't believe this ****! DC hates it's fans! I'm never reading them again!" Sure we haven't had much of the latter but still, there are good reasons for delay. Who knows maybe they have decided to make it so that something important happens before April 4th and they have decided to put that into the comic... maybe some sort of April Fools joke, I would actually like that.

I agree. And Johns himself has said that he wants to make sure Blackest Night and everything GL he does will be perfect. I'm willing to wait in order to maintain the quality.
Delays are annoying, though.
