...That's the silliest title so far. Might be good.

I never actually finished the third season. Mostly because the characters I used to like the most started acting like dicks for some reason. oO

How so?

The most "dickish" thing I can recall was Nanoha smacking down Teana, which she deserved (although admittedly she could have explained her reasons for doing so better).

This, pretty much. The generally sucky communication skills displayed during that part rather put me off. I guess I never really got what exactly Teana did wrong -I found it all kinda confusing, really- but Nanoha and Vita getting violent about it made them drop in respect point for me.

From what I gather she was pissed at Teana for unleashing a dangerous (For both her and Teana as it placed a strain on her Linker Core) and untested spell during a simple training simulation. As well as pushing herself to extremes, Something that almost got Nanoha killed and had her laid up in recovery for a few years when she did it.

The Nanoha universe is certainly ripe with great characters, and great potential. A title containing the words "war", and "chronicle", makes me hopeful that this series could be a particularly epic Nanoha series.

I do like how Nanoha is allowed to seriously age, and grow, as a character (the same being true of Fate, Hayate, and several others).

It's rare to get to follow a fictional character, in a visual medium, from 8 years old to 19 years old to now 25 years old. By extension, Subaru and Teana are also 6 years older, which means... late teens for them, probably?

It's neat that Nanoha is now old enough that I'd feel comfortable dating her.

Hmmm....

Sadly, just a manga, and not an anime series as well. At least for now.

Maybe, hope against hope, they will finally spell out Nanoha and Fate's relationship (other than that supposed DVD extra that I have yet to confirm).

Fun thought, Vivio will be about 11 years old, about 2 years older than her parents when they started. It could be fun seeing what she's been up to. And the Wolkenritter might have even gotten to the point where they are looking outside of the nest.

I get what you're saying, but I'd still recommend watching further. StrikerS may not be as awesome as A's, but I thought it had the most satisfying ending of the three seasons.

IIRC, they were in their mid teens in StrikerS, so they should be in their early twenties. Erio and Caro should be in their mid teens. Wonder if Vita will have started aging...

Nope she is basically an AI and as such will not physically age.

Not quite. There was a bit of a throw-away comment from Shamal near the end of the series. Hayate has, through her actions, shut down the cyclical nature of the Book of Darkness. Because of that, the "programs" that the Book runs are slowly starting to drift back into a more standard human form. Shamal warns Vita to be careful attacking the Cradle, because they simply do not know for how much longer they will remain "rebootable" by Hayate. Beforehand, if they perished in battle, Hayate could literally resurrect them. Shamal was actively doubting if that was still possible, so true death was now possible. And that was the dramatic idea behind the Iron Knight's final bloody run on the Saint's Cradle engine: this was an 800-year-old warrior doing her Valhalla run. If it was not for the fact that I absolutely adore the little hammer-head, I would be upset at them letting Hayate resurrect Vita at the end of StrikerS.

I honestly suspect a side comment of Vita having grown a full 1-2 centimeters since StrikerS.

Wild suppositions and personal opinions:
Actually, that might explain why Zafira was all bandaged up. In As, the Wolkenritter stayed injured because they did not want to let Hayate know that they were getting into fights. When they were wiped out near the end, Hayate simply used the Book and remade them on the spot. There is a possibility that Zafira has drifted too far away to use the Book's restoration protocols on him.

Because that is one of the top reasons fighting the Book and it's user was so dangerous. You did not have to face one crazy powerful mage. You had to take on a combat specialist, a living seige engine, a defensive specialist, a healer and support unit, as well as the "Artillery of the Gods" known as the Book of Darkness/the Twilight Sky. And regardless of how many of the others you cut down, if you do not take out the Book user (and they decide to spend the mana), you are stuck facing a thankfully limited set of immortal soldiers.

I thought I remembered something along those lines, thanks. Of course, they can always use that to have her age at whatever rate they want.

Though it would be hilarous if she hit a growth spurt and was now taller than Signum.

Haven't been able to read Force yet, but I've checked out the first few Chapters of Vivid. Is it just me or does Vita actually seem a little taller in the one panel we see her standing next to Nanoha? She comes up to her shoulder, and I seem to recall her being shorter than that in StrikerS. But I could be mis remembering.

Season 4 ended up being a manga, not an anime.
