Actors in roles they'd rather forget. What actors, who now days are considered Oscar contenders. have done movies that they wish could be stricken from their imdb credits.

Sam Rockwell Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Believe it or not Sam is the main Foot agent who shows everyone around and is offering the kids smokes. At the end of the movie he tells the cops where to find all of the stolen loot.

Matthew McConaghey and Renee Zellweger were both in 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation'.

Of course, the good thing with Matthew McConaghey is, if he does a movie he'd rather forget... he usually can with very little fuss.

If you're going with TMNT, then I'd think that Elias Koteas would be the obvious choice...

Meg Ryan seems to forget she's redoing the same basic story over and over again. Not quite the meaning of the original phrase ... but that's my sentiment.

Schwarzenegar can't forget being in Red Sonja but he sure seems to have wished he hadn't been in it last I heard him make any comments about it.

Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face in Batman Forever. IMO Tommy would've made a great Harvey Dent/Two-Face, but the studios decided to go campy instead ruining what could've been an amazing performance.

Yeah, Jones was genius casting in concept ... but the finished result was pretty unfortunate. Seems like he would have preferred a Harvey Dent closer to the one Eckhart played.

For some reason this thread reminds me of Alfred Molina saying that when you're on the set you take the work seriously and you can regret things later. Don't complain about the crap material until AFTER you're done with what you started. It was an interview where he managed to dodge answering the question of which movies he wished he hadn't been in, I think.

That dope. Alfred is absolutely right. Even if the movie sucked, at least he could say he did his best and others might agree, which may make him stand out above all else.

Courtney Cox in Masters of the Universe seems a likely candidate for this thread :)

Im sure thare probably isn't a day that goes by whare George Clooney dont regret being in Batman & Robin. Atleast his career didn't get destroyed because of it.

I cant say the same for the guy who played as Skeletor though. IMO he was the best out of the entire cast.

Some days, it seems Dwayne Johnson wants people to forget his magnum opus once and forever will be The Rock :frown:

But he was awesome in that movie! I want my Casey Jones spinoff. As for Sam Rockwell I'm sure as a struggling young actor he's happy he got paid. Bit roles don't seem that embarrassing to actors especially early in their career. They are usually more embarrassed if they have a major role in a big flop.

I heard that had more to do with Jones feeling like he was being upstaged by Jim Carrey. Which he was going to be no matter what he did.

Maybe he forgot he was in it. That happens a lot with actors. If you read Random Roles at the Onion AV CLub they'll drop some obscure movie and a lot of the time the actor they are interviewing will barely remember what happened on the set of that movie. Case with Red Sonja he probably just dropped by the set for a few hours and went to do something else.

I know Sly Stallone has always been a little shy about that porn he made.

Im willing to bet Eddy Murphy wishes he never did movies like Nutty Professor, Norbit, Daddy Day Care, Haunted Mansion, and Pluto Nash. I miss the Eddy Murphy of the 80's, back when he was actually funny.

Well the recent Oscar nomination for Frost/Nixon helped.

Heh, Skeletor played Nixon. That's hysterical.

The real problem was, essentially, having TWO Jokers in one film. Jones' came off like Romero's Joker, and Carrey as an incredibly crazy Joker.

Some days, it seems Dwayne Johnson wants people to forget his magnum opus once and forever will be The Rock :frown:
Kinda, yeah. He's big into the repackaging, so he can be a family-friendly film star (with lots of action, naturally, but on the lighter side); his enthusiasm is a bit disturbing at times, but it's better than seeing "The Rock" in credits. That always looked silly.

And re: Eddie Murphy, I'm willing to bet he doesn't regret doing most of that list of films. Maybe Pluto Nash, and/or Haunted Mansion. He seemed to really enjoy playing a ton of characters, most of them in fat-suits, and it made him a lot of money.

But I miss '80s Eddie, too. Those comedy albums were gold.

Ok, I'm gonna play devil's advocate here a bit, 1) I actually liked Pluto Nash... it amused me, stupid absolutely, but still amused me. I don't regret watching it 2) I really don't count Bat's Forever or Bat's and Robin in the same vein as alot of other comic movies, to me after Returns they did take a campy turn and went for kid appeal instead of mass appeal. And as far as that goes, you can't tell me that at the time those movies came out there wasn't leigons of 5-12 year olds that loved those movies, which i actually thought was the target audience of those two. I gave the actors credit for doing "kid movies". If they were supposed to be "true" continuations of the Burton movies sure they failed, but kids all over loved those movies, and from the goofy dialogue to the bright look of them, that seemed more the target than the rest of us.

However Christian Slater atleast at one time hated The Legend of Billie Jean.

Jennifer Anniston in Leprechaun. Sure I have a fondness for that horrible, horrible movie, but I wonder about her thoughts.

All those new movies have done well at the box office and made him a very rich man.

Personally, I will always think of Hilary Swank, star of past Oscar winner Million Dollar Baby, as "The Next Karate Kid".

Good thing other people probably won't.

Heck, many of them already openly admitted that the movie was garbage.

Oh, definitely, but I actually like the movie.
I'm just saying that if you're going with the premise of TMNT being something to regret, Elias seems a lot more like a fish out of water in there.

I always figured Buscemi was in Armageddon because the Coens hadn't come up with anything they needed him for.

He probably didn't think it was all that bad. He was in the third one.

I just don't understand why Depp never wants to talk about 21 Jumpstreet in his interviews. His Tom Hanson was one cool cat and 21 Jumpstreet was an a**kicking show.
