Back before for the line-up was finalized for the JLA animated series, Bruce Timm did version of this:

that originally had Hal Jordan as Green Lantern and Green Arrow in the place of Hawkgirl. I saw it once in Wizard and haven't been able to find it since. Anyone?

did they ever explain about Hal Jordan I know he made a cameo in one episode but was he supposed to be dead in the JLU.

Hal doesn't exist in the DCAU, the only mention of him is in Superman when Kyle gets Abin Sur's Ring. You see a plane with Hal Jordan painted on the side after Kyle is thrown into it. As for a different line up earlier on I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that is the case and then they changed it up to be more PC, and have better storylines and morals for the show.

The episode where Batman, John Stewart and Wonder Woman was traveling through different times and dimensions, John turned into Hal briefly and it spooked Batman and them out.

I think I know the image you're talking about, but I remember it differently. Let me check my computer when I get home; I used to have copies saved, and hopefully they survived when I got my new computer.

I saw one version with Black Canary, Green Arrow, Robin and someone else from the Teen Titans (Beast Boy? Can't remember).

...OF course how could I forget, he is voiced by Adam Baldwin, one of my more favourite Actors.

Oh, they fully admit the "more PC" part, but I don't know how that gave the show "better morals." And I have to admit, what they wound up doing with Hawkgirl and John Stewart was great.

But I want that original poster, damnit! A "classic JLA" by Bruce Timm! It seems odd that I'm the only one jonesing for it.

I'm not sure about the "morals" part of it, but if the changes were for story purposes, that isn't "to be more PC".

Several of the storylines centering on Hawkgirl were among the most interesting in the show.

Impulse. At one point they thought they'd need kids to sell it. And for some strange reason having Impulse meant no Flash. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense to me either.

They've got a couple of pictures here at the Watchtower, (http://jl.toonzone.net/001/001.htm) but none of them seem to match your description to the letter. Hope you find it; I'd love to see it, too.

Agreed, John and Hawkgirl were two of the best characters on the show.

Dude, awesome work. Maybe I'm just mis-remembering it. It's been a couple of years. Maybe I'm just combining that top picture with Hal and the black-and-white with Green Arrow in my mind. I mean, something that rare and nice would have turned up somewhere by now, right? It's what I'll tell myself because I can't find it.
