Who do you think would win? Hal jordan or darth vader

I a very big fan of dc comic books. i realy like the green lantern its safe to say he is my favorite charecter. My bestfriend realy likes star wars. we always come to an arguement over who whould win in a fight Hal or vader

please help me settle the arguement by posting your compleatly honest opinion

I love Darth Vader and dislike Hal Jordon. Jordon would kick Vader's ass though, DC powers are several orders of magnitude higher then Star Wars powers.

The only way Vader could win is if he took Hal Jordan's ring. But that would be nearly impossible and Hal Jordan would be introducing Vader to the pavement!

However, I think if Batman was in the fight, he would come out on top with his cunning knowledge. :wink:

It's an interesting conundrum, actually.

Technically speaking, Hal Jordan can fly ... WITHOUT a ship. He can go into hyperdrive (transluminal) without a ship. He can manipulate his green energy in the blink of an eye whereas for big flashy moves it takes the Jedi and Sith some concentration (even Yoda, the most powerful Jedi, took a minute or two to raise something as large as Luke's X-Wing out of the swamp, Hal would've just pulled it out no problems).

There's also the question of whether or not a lightsaber could even cut through Green Lantern's aura. I really doubt it, since those auras can withstand being pretty close to a sun.

However ... Vader is duplicitous, and there is the Jedi penchant for mind tricks. He could theoretically tell Hal "You want to take off that ring". Would Hal's willpower be enough to defy the Force? And there's force chokes too.

I have no doubt Hal's ring would hold up against energy swords and force lightning, but the choke could work. I'd still chalk it up to Hal any day though. He'd thrash Vader so fast that Vader would spend the following three days he was in a coma wondering what hit him and if he could have stopped it.

That being said ... you totally should have made it Sinestro vs. Darth Vader. Both use terror, both spread fear, and Warworld was really, really Death Star-esque.

So there's a new question. What would win in a fight? Warworld or the Death Star? The one with the Yellow Lantern Battery, or the one with the power to destroy a planet? The one the Anti-Monitor was piloting, or the one with the Emperor ...

Not sure it is a matter of DC powers being higher magnitude.

I think a surprise throat crush from Vader could kill Hal. Anything else Hal's will would over ride.

Also the ring should be able to put out enough power to crush lil Vader in any number of ways, especially with Hal having multiple rings....

I like Star Wars and if Hakl for some reasons had to use a light saber eeven if it was made via hte ring (I dunno some dumb comic rule?) Vader would whip his ass.


Given a no rules scenario: the kind I prefer----- Vader = fail.

And fopr the record a low powered villain like Bane would likely get pwned by Vader.

As for the death star question... I think it depends on who wrote it. Star Wars comics...Death Star wins...DC comics, Warworld wins. Seem similar enough to me.

Though The Death Star may not be as structurally sound as Warworld, makin m think if WarWorld could survive one shot...it would win.

So...the real question is what has more power output?

Or maybe a Superhero just flies through the Death Star afew times making it decompress.

If both were on their guard? Hal would win. Jedi Mind tricks work fine, against the weak willed... which Jordan isn't. Lightsabers cut through almost everything BUT energy field protection, and the throat clutch wouldn't kill Hal fast enough even if it some how got through the field. GL would drop a construct on Darth's head before you could say "Flattened Dome"
