“Party of Five” icon Scott Wolf will play the opportunistic newscaster in ABC’s pilot for “V,” based on the 1983 Nazi space-lizard sci-fi miniseries.

Wolf’s similarly mammal-monikered “Party” brother, Matthew Fox, stars on ABC’s long-running sci-fi series “Lost.”

UPDATE: We've now word that Morris Chestnut ("Anacondas: The Hunt For The Blood Orchid") has joined the "V" cast as well.

Yeah this can't be good. Invasion meets That Bank Robbery tv series star. When will ABC and everyone else for that matter realize you can't copy the magic that was behind the creation of lost.

I thought they were trying to capture the magic behind the original miniseries?

I thought they were trying to capture the magic behind the original miniseries?

Seems that way to me. Hope this doesn't start a trend of new TV shows being remakes of past TV shows. Just what we need, a remake of Charlie's Angels (with Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Hilary Duff) and Fantasy Island (with a drunk Verne Troyer shouting, "Da plane! Da plane!")

Odd that this new "V" series is airing on ABC when the original aired on NBC.

Morena Baccarin will play a lead in the ABC drama "V"

"V," from WBTV, is a re-imagining of the 1980s miniseries about an invasion of aliens known as Visitors and the resistance against them. The ICM-repped Baccarin will play Anna, the leader of the Visitors who is remarkably knowledgeable about human culture and media manipulation.

Well this is interesting.
