I just noticed that Amazon has preorders up for a Walking Dead compendium (http://www.amazon.com/Walking-Dead-Compendium-Robert-Kirkman/dp/1607060760/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236193428&sr=8-1). At over 1,000 pages, it seems to be quite a heffer.

According to the description, it's "Introducing the first eight volumes of this fan-favorite series collected into one massive paperback collection! This title collects "The Walking Dead" numbers 1-48." That sounds amazing.

That's a great price for 48 issues. Would be nice for it to be in hardcover just for durability but the price would probably increase significantly, although I don't know why it should.

I'll probably be buying a copy just to lend to friends I'm trying to get hooked. No more risking not getting my treasured hardcovers back.

a 1,000 page softcover? Wowzers! That's bound to fall apart quickly.

Should have been hardcover.

However under $40 for 48 issues is a sweet deal!

I think it's cool but I couldn't imagine trying to read it. The graphic novels are so cheap I have no problem lending them out.
