Just wondering, don't read GL. Thanks.

Not anymore. Now that they know Parallax was the reason the rings didn't work against yellow before, if they can overcome fear, it can be used against yellow. Some of the recruits have trouble against it still when they start...

I don't think the fear thing is an issue anymore except maybe for the four earth lanterns since parallax is imprisoned in their individual power batteries instead of the central battery. It was never a problem with kyle since parallax had already escaped when he got his ring.

Its apparently not a problem for Hal, Kyle, John & Guy. As seen in recent issues, Hal has been directly engaging members of the Sinestro Corps and yellow hasn't been an issue. That's a thing of the past, except as a trial for the rookies to overcome in training.

Any new GL who has not overcome fear, will be affected by yellow. Those who are the veterans aren't affected now that they are aware of it.

Well, that was the status quo before the Sinestro War.. now it should only be Hal, Kyle, John and Guy who are at risk of not being able to affect yellow, since they're the only ones who are holding Parallax in their Power Batteries.

I don't know that it's been established in a Who's Who or trading card specs sort of way. As others have noted, we've seen GLs interact with yellow constructs with no problem, and we've seen rookies struggle with yellow.

It seems that there was the suggestion that any GL could interact with yellow, but it was more difficult and took more will-power. I can't recall where-- I think it was a GL issue right after the OYL jump-- where Hal was encouraging John, who was having difficulty with something yellow. Hal was telling John to "work through it" or "push through it"... something to that effect.

I have a feeling that when the writer needs a GL to be defeated by yellow, that the impurity will pop up again, and when she/he needs a GL to simply engage with a few Sinestro Corps members, that it will be ignored. And it's better that way, at least to me.

Try not to keep in mind that every newbie is in effect of the Parallax Anomaly. Yat was recruited on the basis that he could overcome great fear.

They're not because they've overcome their fears. In "Secret Origin", when Parallax was still in the centeral battery, Hal discovered that he could get his ring to work against yellow. But he couldn't duplicate the process due to not knowing that it was about overcoming fear. The four GL's are not affected by Parallax being divided up among their batteries.

The four of them aren't affected now because they know what they are doing. That doesn't mean the problem can't come up again for them though. If one of them gets shaken up bad enough like when sinestro was preparing kyle to be the host for parallax then they could start having problems with their ring again.

Every green lantern is recruited because they have the ability to overcome great fear. It hasn't been a problem for anyone since the sinestro corps war when parallax escaped from the central battery again.
