What is happening with the zatanna/Black canary graphic novel?

What is up with that long awaited GN? I've googled it and nothing good has come up sooooooooo...? Some HARD facts would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I vaguely remember it being mentioned once, but I'm afraid it is about as likely to happen as All-Star Batgirl.

Oh really? man, thats deppressing. Had an inkling bout the canned thing though. :frown: Really thought paul Dini would follow though with it though, becouse of his thing with zatanna.

Yeah, from various things I've heard it's 'on hold'.

Still, you should be able to get your fix from the Zatanna and Power Girl ongoings being released. Funnily enough, I believe it's the launch of these two books that is holding up that Graphic novel...the writer of the GN (Paul Dini) is going to be writing the Zatanna ongoing and the artist (Amanda Conner) is going to be drawing the Power Girl ongoing. :)

It's definitely going to come out. But they are waiting on the art.

What I've heard through the rumor mill is that they had the first issue completed, but Didio was so not-pleased with it that he had to switch the artist.

Guh. I'm really looking forward to it, Zee and Di are two of my favorite heroes, Connor art is awesome art, and Dini is a fantastic writer.

A team-up between the two superheroines famous for wearing fishnet stockings? They probably have trouble finding somebody to draw this who doesn't completely side-tracked with wanking. Btw, the dated term "graphic novel" is especially hilarious in this context.

Fan favorite? I like the upcoming series but don't think it'll last past 12 issues. Just look at recent examples like Hawkgirl which got shafted after 16 issues transferring from Hawkman's title, and now the status quo change in Wonder Woman to a male character. The DC Universe isn't a very friendly place to female characters or even A-listers as of late.
