Me too! Couldn't care less about Xavier and Danger. I'm interested in this reliving a "specific past event that's crucially important" for Rogue.

Kissing Cody, absorbing Ms. Marvel or joining the X-Men are my top 3 picks.

I'm a long way from reading those issues of Legacy. I have them sitting on my desk, but I am working through the early '90s right now and haven't even thought about reading my new issues yet.
Stupid backlog of re-purchased back issues.

Thats what I thought at first but he seems a bit too young, and with the whole interview going on about how Rogue keeps her past even from those who she calls friends, I think that maybe the boy is her little brother who she killed when her powers first manifested. This event led her running away from her blood relatives and has been bottled up inside her ever since.
Now who is this little brother, well he's a bit of a retcon but maybe this is why Rogue erased her past life as Anna Marie and met up with Mystique who took her in. Well its just a theory...

She was friends with Cody for a long time before her powers manifested though, so it's possible she's just seeing Cody as an ideal image, rather than how she last saw him.
Or the artists simply misfired.
It happens.

I've always thought that it makes sense for Rogue's lack of control of her powers to be of psychological nature. She doesn't really think she deserves happiness after what she did to Cody and Carol.

That would be much more interesting than some over-repetitive Cody. That boy can be her brother - Priscilla, Rogue's mom, was blond. I'd actually love that. You should team up with Mike Carey on all that.

Mama Mystique will show her the way.I figure Rogue and Cody were about 12 or 13 at the time of the fateful kiss.So the kid would seem to me to be old enough.Children often blame themselves when things go bad and are ignorant of the truth.I have often wondered if by some way Mystique "discovered" Rogue's ability before it manifested itself and somehow manipulated the situation to "push" Rogue into her dominance. The ultimate betrayal...

I've always thought that it makes sense for Rogue's lack of control of her powers to be of psychological nature. She doesn't really think she deserves happiness after what she did to Cody and Carol.
It is more than that. Carey is really a continuity geek... and we all know the Carol mind could touch other people when in control of Rogue´s body.
http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/4412/roguetouch.png
So the problem here is psychological, and previous to the Carol debacle. I am with Darknessatnoon, we will go back to Rogue´s "first time", the boy she killed (and I am not usre it is going to be Cody) and why she is unable to control her powers.
Afterwards, she will be able to touch people, giving end to her personal growing arch started already in Carey´s X-men run

She would have known about the ability in advance from Destiny. So, you are right. But Rogue betrayed Mystique first by wanting to kiss a boy. Unacceptable!

Lord, I was hooked with
The mutant known as Rogue, who absorbs powers, abilities and memories with a single touch, keeps much of her sordid past buried deep, even from those she calls friends. But her shadowy history erupts in a flurry of violence and vengeance in X-MEN: LEGACY #222, out March 18
 I'm so excited, we might finally see some of Rogue's sordid past rear it's ugly head at her! Sounds like it's got angry teeth ready to rip her head off!
Awesome interview, it's going to be an awesome couple of issues!!!

No..you are all wrong. Wrong I tell you.
That kid is Rogue's. She got knocked up at a young age-a very Mississippian thing to do-and soul sucked that fetus into oblivion. The image of him is the age that the never-to-be baby would have been if Rogue's uterus weren't a fetal death trap.
C'mon people...it's sooooo obvious.

i dont get how rogue has a permanent psychic residue/personality of Mystique in her head without mystique lying in a coma & her having mystiques powers.
normally when rogue absorbs someone's powers/skills/memories permanently she has the psychic residue of that individual in her head & that person is left in a coma (ex: Ms.Marvel), but if she temporariliy absorbs then the individual would be knocked out for a while & the psychic residue would fade when the powers fade.
so how is it Rogue has the psychic personality of mysique in her head, and Mystique is still running around as normal as can be without being in a coma or having her shapeshifting powers stolen by rogue

Both Mystique and Danvers have weaknesses. But only Mystique has no feelings (now that Irene Adler is dead). Is that a proof of superiority ?

And... Even better: Remy is here, too! *is a big ROMY 'shipper*

And... I think the blonde boy is Cody. I totally do.

Also when she absorbed a large portion of Sunfire powers & some of his personality he didn't going into a coma (he almost die but that was more so because of Lady Deathstrike cutting his legs out than Rogue taken his powers) So more than likely has to do with the people will/toughness weather or not they go into a coma or etc. Hope this helps

No. Proof of superiority comes from Mystique's imprint demanding control of Rogue's body. That shifty mutant has female balls.

As we've seen countless times, everyone Rogue ever touched left a psychic residue. They don't fade... ever. This slate was supposedly cleared recently by Hope, the Messiah baby. Then she touched Mommy Dearest. Lucky Rogue gets to have the one person she hates more than any others in her head constantly.
I do agree with killerbee a little. Carey has yet to show me his supposed fondness for Rogue... and I'm just about done waiting for it to show.

not impressed....so far this entire rogue storyline that carey promised would be fun and exciting and a must for rogue fans everywhere has been a complete let down. storyline bores me to tears and the art is horrendous, rogue hasn't look this bad since igor kordey started during her into a motorcycle dyke.
ditto.
i just hope that something interesting will really happen to rogue's character in this story arc.
