Sorry. I know Walker Texas Ranger is pretty disturbing in its cheesy-ocity.

By the way, assuming you thought I meant I actually had AIDS, it's kind of disheartening to know that only 3 people cared enough to view the thread. :frown:

The early seasons were good. Hell JMS from Babylon 5 even wrote much of season 1. The wheels didn't come off the until they decided to make the show a propaganda for Christian values which was different from the early season when each episode was a full on action movie.

I've been to Texas. I looked behind me while I was there. I didn't see the ranger.

It's sad that I knew right away what this thread was about. It's because I've been watching conan O'Brien this week.

What's worse though is that I know the whole entire theme song. It's just so funny.

Yeah, It's a pretty old fad, actually. Still funny, though.

don't be disheartened.....I saw the thread and didn't read it until now because I didn't think for one moment you actually meant that you had it.

Yeah I have been watching Conan this week as well. That was the clip that popped up when he dug the walker texas ranger lever out of the prop room. I commented on it in my will late night with jimmy fallon crash and burn thread.

plus i just woke up and just saw it. I was too busy dreaming about beating someone unconscious so I could get put in a mental hospital.

Asylum workers have got it made.

Interesting work, the money's OK and they have a chance of being killed if they fuck up.

God, I hated this show.

Walker in general, or this particular episode?

Honestly, from crap I've seen him put out recently in real life, Chuck Norris is an egotistical dick... but the one thing I liked about this episode (yes, I saw it years ago---my Dad liked to watch Walker) was that it put right in front of a lot of bigoted stupid viewers that adorable little kids can have AIDS---it's not just "homos and junkies." I have to give the show credit for pushing a little bit farther into a lot of stubborn heads that AIDS is a disease, *period*, and type-casting its victims as somehow "deserving their fate" (because you don't like the lifestyle of some folks who have it) is a horrible thing to do.

And yeah, I agree with someone else: of the later seasons of the show (and of the eps I actually saw), a better title for the series would've been "Walker: Christian Ranger." I can't remember which one, but there was one in particular where he took the vaunted "Native American Influence" on the show and totally twisted it to their faith pretty much being "Christianity in Deerskin"---and it made me throw up in my mouth a little.

I can't find it but still my favorite clip ever was when they are all discussing who would play each of them in a movie and of course they get all self referencial with ol Walker.

[1990's] I was intimidated at first. I was scared that if I opened the thread that I could catch it, too. [/1990's]
