Last night a friend brought over Pandemic (http://tinyurl.com/aw3flb) from Z-Man Games and we ran through it twice. We ended up losing both times, but still had a lot of fun.

The first game ended because we ran out of cards and were unable to cure the last two diseases. We were close, but could not get quite enough moves together for the set up.

The second game we ran out of tokens for one of the diseases and had an Epidemic card come up. We had several cities with outbreaks that already had three tokens on them. The virus spread pretty quickly, mostly due to luck of the draw on which cities came up.

A fun game that I'd like to try again one of these days.

Anyone else play this recently?

Oh, I love this game! I just got it a couple months ago, and everyone I've played it with seems to enjoy it.

What professions did you use? It helps a ton if you at least have a Medic and/or a Scientist.

How many epidemics did you play with? Once you get good at the game, I recommend:

6 for 2 players
5-6 for 3 players
5 for 4 players

It actually gets harder the more people you have playing because viruses appear faster than people can get to them. I usually play with 4 people, and I still don't think we've beaten 5 epidemics yet. We're getting better, though. Usually we lose from too many outbreaks. The dispatcher is really important with 4 players since players get fewer turns.

We had 3 players and I think we had 4 Epidemics in the first game and 5 and in the second.

I played the Dispatcher in the first game and the Scientist in the second.

Fun stuff.
