I held off buying the singles on this and decided to wait for the trade. In May, I WILL own the trade.

Unarguably the greatest series of 2008-early 09.
Just a perfect comic.

Just a perfect comic.
Well, to be perfect it would've had to be free (at least to me!).
But yes: brilliant.

This series is so underrated, one of only 4 series I kept up with in the singles, I cant wait to have these all together. 5 stars. I will also be purchasing multiple copies for friends.

My single issues are currently with a friend in college and I don't know when I'll be getting them back from her. In the meantime, I think it's totally worth my money to buy the graphic novel version to pass on to people. Because really- it's that type of story.
It is a book that many non-comic readers will enjoy. I'll be passing it on to my mother and aunts (we had similar situation in my family) as well as my boss and some of my co-workers. If you haven't read it yet I'd highly recommend it.

Joe Kelly actually said on his blog that later this year, they'd be releasing a "Titan Edition" of the series. So I'll probably skip the trade and instead double dip on the Deluxe. Though the trade will make a great gift for my friends that ar.e into Vertigo and other things of the non-superhero variety.
GRANT!

Awesome. I've been skimming the later issues at stores and been kicking myself for not jumping on board sooner. I can't wait to see this.

what exactly is this book about? I've heard about it but I've never really got a description of what it is about.

To tell you too much would ruin the story. But in general, it is a drama about a young adolescent girl who is troubled at school. She has an extremely active imagination and uses D&D as an escape. That's the gist- the rest of the story lies in the events and the characters. I didn't quite "get" what it was about until I was 3 or 4 issues into it, but the main character is quirky enough that you are drawn into the story none-the-less.
