From this week's Lying in the Gutters (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=20069) ...

LITG mentioned Grant Morrison working with Frank Quitely on a Batbook a while ago, that title appears to be "Batman And Robin," with rotating artists. Quitely to start for three issues, with more to come. One poster on Funnybook Babylon names Philip Tan for the next three, Doug Mahnke for three more and a final three from Quitely.

Another poster tagged Tony Daniel as the continuing artist for the Batman book. If his “Battle For The Cowl" series is well received, could he be writing it as well? DC have in the past been allergic to writer/artists, but maybe its time is coming again.

This schedule also indicates that these new books may be around for a year. Odds are you’ll see another change then, with some of the old books returning, and some of the new books sticking around.

Manhke would be good, but I have no enthusiasm for Tan.

Why not reunite Morrison with Fraser Irving now that Irving's doing DC work again?

Manke and Tan are very good but not exactly exciting to me personally, good be far worse though. Quitely staying on for any substantial period of time always seemed to good to be true and 3 issues is still much to be thankful for.

Tony Daniels staying around....well lets just say I hope there's a good writer on the title. whether it's him or anybody else doesn't matter.

A "final" three? Final as in series-ending?! Huh. Well, if it's Morrison writing, I'll be getting it, but this seriously hurts my enthusiasm for the book. With characters like Batman or Spidey, who have more than one monthly out as it is, I don't usually do minis on top...

What new schedule? I thought the schedule mentioned applied only to B&R? In any case, I sure hope DC isn't just going to turn the clocks back to, well, now when Bruce (inevitably) returns for Batman #700. With Batwoman in 'Tec, I could understand having one new, temporary title for the new dynamic duo post-BftC. Obviously, Batman will return to the pages of 'Tec at some point, so the other secondary book -- Batman & Robin, from the looks of it -- could get canned then. If the same fate were to befall books like Red Robin or Streets Of Gotham, I'd be peeved, though. That would retroactively reduce a year's worth of stories to filler material and turn everything we're in store for right now into a marketing stunt. I hope DC is not that dumb. I think my hope is justified, though. I can't see DC just canceling this whole new line-up of books they've painstakingly setting up. If they fail to sell, -- sure. Otherwise, I doubt it.

No, final as in Frank's final issues on the series.

Though, Batman and Robin as a title...? Who knows how long that will last.

i think he meant "final 3" as in "final 3 from quietly"... as in quietly wont be doing anymore issues..
