I haven't bought a single issue of Avengers/Invaders, but the cover-art for issue #11 may be enough for me to buy one issue.
Alex Ross's take on Baron Blood, U-Man, and the other villains of the old Invaders series? I'm in!

RUNAWAYS.
omygod. Awesome.
A lot of Runaways fans seem either disappointed or outright angry with the idea of Yost on the title. That and Molly visiting the X-men for even one issue.
I guess a lot of people are still sore about the New X-men slaughter.

Expect a bunch of Runaways to die in utterly emotionless scenes.

I'm personally excited about Yost on Runaways. Hope it's more than just a fill-in.

Does it seem like the writers they've been getting for Runaways have been progressively more and more dreadful?

Jason Asmus is pretty good, I really loved his Meltdown story in Manifest Destiny.
Chris Yost can be great, as long as he cuts down on the pointless deaths just for the sake of angst.

Well I've seen the solicits for all 3 issues of Amazing Spiderman, Captain America, Moon Knight, & Invincible Iron Man, plus Daredevil Noir. Thats my entire list unless the Ultimate Spiderman Requiem issues start in May, and Ultimatum 5 actually ships?

At least they're reprinting the Fin Fang Four stories from the Digital Subscription site. Can't get enough of the FFF.

I agree. And James' Nightcrawler short story was sentimental and a nice character piece as well.
I think Chris Yost is hit or miss but his Molly is the best behind Vaughan.

The initial issue is a reprint to show the beginning of the story. Subsequent issues will be new stories.

Totally disagree, I thought New X-Men was emotionally charged throughout.

Chris Yost and James Asmus are both superb writers, the sort of writers who should really do justice to this title. That said, I'm worried about having a focus entirely on Molly. She's undeniably perfect, but I don't want her to overshadow all the others.

2 issues of Agents of Atlas in May?! Goddamit, I hate it when I'm forced to buy extra comics when companies double-up on a title. Incidentally, it also makes me not want to keep buying that book as a result... :frown:

I didn't realize somebody was holding a gun to your head every time you went into a comic shop.
Seriously, just buy one, wait a while, then buy another if that's easier for you. But writing off a seriously fantastic book, one that you KNOW about and are already buying, just because they're doing two issues in one month is kind of ridiculous.

yeah. its not like they are coming out the same week. or on time for that matter.
Writer Jeff Parker (AGENTS OF ATLAS) and Kyle Hotz (THE HOOD: BLOOD FROM STONES) invite you to spend a week in the life of Parker Robinson, one of the key characters in Dark Reign, as he struggles to keep his professional and personal lives from destroying each other!
The Hood's name is Parker Robbins. :(
Herc sounds really funny and good, as usual. I'm pumped. I can't wait for anything. Dark Reign runs me.

Komodo has a disturbingly large forehead. And she's missing her tail.
And Typhoid Mary's fingers seem to melt into her palm.

ALL-NEW SAVAGE SHE-HULK #2 (of 4)
Written by FRED VAN LENTE
Penciled by PETER VALE

As the all-new, all-different She-Hulk continues her relentless rampage through New York, the mysterious target of the desperate mission that brought her to our time period is revealed -- and it's a doozy! Only one thing stands between the daughter of Hulk and Thundra and the object of her quest -- her name is JENNIFER WALTERS, and she won't let the She-Hulk mantle be taken away from her without a catfight that measures 10 on the Richter scale! And no matter what the outcome, the DARK AVENGERS wait in the wings to take on the winner! Plus, 8 pages of Director’s Cut-style extras!

I like the concept behind the new She-Hulk myself, it's just unfortunate she's been given the same name as Jen. But with Van Lente behind it, I'm sure it'll be worth picking up.

Actually, it's one that's only just started that I'm not 100% sold on yet. I just wonder whatever happened to having a monthly that's, you know, monthly.
I know my philosophy is a tricky one for other guys to get a grip on (clearly, going by the responses) and that's cool - I'd just prefer to put that $3 to some other use rather than having to pay double for that particular title in May. It's not a finances thing - thankfully I can basically buy what I want - it's just something that irks me, especially on a new title. Don't get me started on the whole Amazing Spider-Man thrice-monthly thing...
