Okay, maybe this is reaching but (Black Flame spoilers)

Why didn't Black Flame just incinerate the frogs who had him held hostage? Sure it's cool the frogs turn on Mr. CEO Nazi, but considering the guy exploded a whole steel mill full of BPRD agents and Roger, you'd think he'd have put up more of a fight.

Perhaps since he seemed to feel bad about Roger and everything he did, he didn't want to risk hurting anyone else...

I think he just cracked. It makes sense and it add's to great character development. People panic and can't think straight.

A bad example is the other day my wife was crossing the street and didn't see the car coming. I said "watch out". When she didn't hear me and I went to shout "Watch out" I could barely muster a whimper. Now the car was barely moving and there were a ton of other people already in the process of crossing so she was safe, but in my mind I only saw danger and yet couldn't do anything.

Can you imagine how awful you would feel when you realize what you've done? That's kinda why I like how the Black Flame reacted. Very human and it shows how small he really is in all of this. At least how small this black flame is.

I didn't take that as him being remorseful. Rather, I thought that he had finally realized that he was not controlling the frog monsters and Katha-Hem, but it was the other way around. He thought he was going to die and he freaked and tried to get out of it. That's why I think he came with the sob story to Liz because he was desperate for someone to save him. Also, if the images from the Warning are anything to go from, it appears that not only did he not die, but he is up to his old tricks. He vanished down a big hole in the earth and the frog monsters and Hyperborean proto-humans have been attacking from out of caves, old abandoned mines, subways, and the like. I think we'll see him again. As for why he didn't toast the frogs, I say either Katha-Hem wouldn't let him or he did just crack.
