View Full Version : X-Men: Corrections

This thread is dedicated to the CC's new, ongoing, 1991 book, X-Men Forever. Imagine if you could go back and time to correct all the post-CC heresies.
What would you do?
Is Jubilee a member of the Neo?
Will Tessa ever become Sage?
Are Cyclops and Dazzler to be instantly executed by CC's representative, Fabian Cortez?
Who is still alive again?
Will Mariko Yashida return to slap Jean Grey in the mouth for making moves on her man during X-Tinction Agenda?
Will Stevie Hunter sue Colossus for battery, given his recent assault upon her person?
Will our favorite scientific Scottish Hasidic Jewish maid, Moira McTaggart, recover from possession by the Shadow King? Will she retreat into her shell or become increasingly "rude"?
You decide.

I wonder if Bishop will once again become an African American in this book.

Bishop is a John Byrne character. He has been corrected and wiped out of existence.

Interesting. Considering whose on the cover of issues #4 (or #1 depending how you look at it) I'm wondering what brings Nightcrawler and Shadowcat back to the X-Men. They weren't around at that point. They were VERY busy convincing Meggan she wasn't a black woman or a mermaid, trying to sober up Captain drunk-head and putting up with Jean's afterbirth aka Rachel Summers.

I would send Kitty Pryde on a dark personal mega-arc where she unwillingly (under mind control. shadow king or dinosaur people.. still undecided) joins several sects dedicated to white supremacy. Ultimately Wolverine would kill her...starting the Dark Wolverine saga.
Even though she would be where she is now (dead) it would be a much better send off.

I'd support this, but only if the team refers to her as Shadowcat. I hate how she thinks she doesn't need a code-name!

Kitty Pryde is old news. She means nothing to Logan. It's Jubilee who will become the white supremacist.

Jubilee was played by a white chick in the Academy Award-nominated Generation X TV movie.

Jubilee being the most powerful mutant?
I think this means certain death for Dazzler, though.

That bitch will get owned. Dazzler's fabulous blond weave alone will massacre Jubilee's grody mess.

I'm sorry, but you are going to have to concede.
Dazzler has no place in this reality. CC already retired her to a narcissist's paradise; her Hollywood threesome with Fred Stanachek and Guido. Her story is resolved.

I'm hoping that we may get some elements of CC previously abandoned plots. Like his plans for Wolverine's death, for Psylocke finally being put back in her British body, and we may see Kitty actually growing up a little.
Although, to be fair, if this is picking up from 1992 Kitty's not supposed to be here. Nor Kurt. They're both very heavily involved with Excalibur at that point.

HARUMPH! Whatever. CC is missing out on a golden opportunity. Just as he did by neglecting Lois London during Dazzler's X-Men years.
But use that hoodrat Jubilee. FEEL FREE, CC.

Novaya, I have no hatred towards Allison. Aside from being fired, CC left X-Men because Lee wanted to bring the Daz back.

That means Rachel may still be the daughter of Phoenix? Interesting.
This continuity will take place in current time. The original Excalibur should be wrapped up now. Kurt, Kitty and Rachel should be free or lost in the multiverse somewhere. How CC plans to divide the X-teams will be very fun to read.

What a control freak he is. Screwing himself of a fourteen year gig over a Dazzler story? Whatever. This thread is not about CC's pet grudges.
And Bingo!, it's not "interesting." Rachel never is. This is an optimistic thread. We are theorizing what fresh stories can be told with this opportunity. Do you have any ideas or are you going to use this as another opportunity to jerk off about Rachel Summers?

That too would be interesting. Let's be fair, they'll never let him reveal that in REAL continuity, so I hope he does it here.

I'm glad this book exists. CC finally has his own out of canon outlet to use all of the old ideas he's been trying to shoehorn into every other Marvel book he's written since 2000. Hopefully it will also shut up the people crying about how "horrible" CC's treatment by editorial has been. They obviously hate him so much that they'll let him take a mulligan in the form of a vanity book that allows him to ignore 18 years of stories to write whatever he wants.

I forget, was Cable revealed to be Scott and Maddie's son by this point, or was he still a future Cannonball? Either way, he's the only remaining kink that needs to be removed in a world free of Bishop, Onslaught, and Xorn... except for the challenge of eliminating the vile Jean Grey.

You mean, one of Claremont's top pet characters hooking up with Jim Shooter, I mean, Scott Summers? No way in hell!

What? He had plans for Wolverine's death. Can anyone elaborate on that? For 1991 it wouldnt be a good idea with the show in 93 and all, but when around was he proposing the idea?

I'm appalled anyone would suggest Claremont wasn't miles aboves such petty on-page vendettas.
It's always been about great stories. Those AU 05 totally had to die. Sheesh.
