The Alex Ross cover of New Mutants made into a poster?
Um...
First...I find.
Then...I buy.
Then...I frame.
Then...I hang.
Then....I stare.

Most Ross work ends up as a poster. Watch out for the surprise New Mutants Saga in the first issue. I doubt the pages listed will be all new story.

Truth.
I got the X-Infernus poster, but I'm slightly worried at the looks people might give me if I hang that scantilly clad, buxom demon girl on my wall.
Still, this is just my speculation for now, so don't get your hopes up too high.
If only I could get my hands on that Michael Kaluta Magik poster from the 80's...

Yeah, with the secondary material Marvel is putting in most oversized issues, it does seem likely that's what's the case here.
But what, then? There's not enough room to reprint an entire issue (let alone the GN, which was the real first issue); as said, the Saga is coming out separately; any interviews should go in the Marvel Spotlight issue... Handbook pages seem the most likely choice, but those could also go in either Saga or Spotlight...

I'm desperately hoping that with all the attention that the New Mutants are going to be getting thanks to this new series, that there will be more collectible items.
I'd love a nice statue or collection of statues for each character.
Maybe like one of those 'piece together' things featuring 2 characters per piece?
That'd be sweet.
If nothing else, a bust or two? An action figure?
Oh but the multi-piece statues would be DELICIOUS!!
Pairings?
Mirage/Psyche/Moonstar with Wolfsbane
Warlock and Cypher (combined/intertwined) with Magik.
Cannonball and Sunspot
Magma and Karma
It'd be so cool!

Gah, if only the Marvel Legends line weren't dead in the water. I've got the 3 New Mutants figures from that old ToyBiz line -- Wolfsbane, Magik/Lockheed, and Warlock/Cypher -- and they're pretty close to in-scale with Marvel Legends figures, but I could really use the rest of them. At the very least, Mirage, Sunspot, and Magma figures are a must.
Not that they could probably support it, but a New Mutants wave with a build-a-figure of the Demon Bear or the Magus would be sweet.

The New Mutants are back, long hail the New Mutants
I have every issue of the original series including the Graphic Novel, Specials, Annuals, Mini's etc. I knew one day they would return, but will the wait be worth it?
Let's hope this series is as great as it should be.

Toy-wise, I'm hoping to see some New Mutants pop up in the Classic Marvel Figurine Collection (http://www.marvel-figurines.co.uk/index1.html). They've made Annihilation figurines, and the Winter Soldier, so they seem to be paying attention to current Marvel events.

NielsVanEekelen

There's a Nova in his updated costume, Super-Skrull and Silver Surfer. That's three out of the four characters that had miniseries in the original Annihilation.
DrDoom616

Yeah but they were cosmic character's long before Annihilation came out
I want to see Ravenous, 'New' Drax, 'New' Starlord, 'New' Quasar, Wraith, 'New' Warlock & Groot
as well as the multitude of others
Ronan, Quasar, Rocket Raccoon, Mantis, Bug, Annihilus, Blastarr, Phalanx, Firelord, Air Walker, Terrax The Tamer, etc

I'm 40 issues away (including annuals) from having the whole run. Of course, that doesn't include the original graphic novel, and what NM minis were put out? I have Fallen Angels, was there more? I wasn't around back then to know what was put out
And I'm in the middle of making a NM training uniform for next years halloween costume: I'll post pics here when I'm done.

Well, there's the Truth or Death miniseries that came out during the 90's; the X-Terminators mini during Inferno, I'd count that too; Magik: Storm & Illyana, of course. And guest appearances galore, but no more New Mutant-specific minis, I think?
I've got the complete series and two copies of the GN. (Someone eBayed those two copies together--I don't know how that makes sense either.)
I'm actually working on owning every single appearance of Illyana ever. Damn that Giant-Size X-Men #1 and its Giant-Size price!

Yes, one example in particular: Karma helped free Magik in Asgard.

Magik never met Boom Boom. Boom Boom joined post baby-fication.

did karma meet doug??
Yes. Of course. They'd been in several issues together.
were magma and magik ever shown to lilke each other
Magma actually sided with Magik on many occassions. She sided with Magik when she insisted they go to rescue Kitty from the White Queen, as well as when she said the team should give Magneto a chance for being their new instructor

i would also think magma more than bobby would be the most suspicious of magik, maybe some blonde on blonde catfighting would ensue
but yeah i remember in one xforce annual boom boom seemed a lil jealous of karma, and siryn was annoyed with dani....maybe theirs still animosity??
but if anyone else know about the other interactions that would be cool

Karma did no such thing MartinRedmond; to Illyana OR Rahne.
Karma was a very composed individual most of her time with the New Mutants. She rarely disobeyed and respected her peers.
She wasn't even ON the team for THAT long. She vanished (thought dead) then turned up HUGE with a dirty telepath taking up shop in her brain, then she kept skipping out to take care of or find her siblings.

The issue where Illyana threatens the boys away from Doug is starting to become clearer. I'm remembering more things about it. Seriously, look for it on eBay or someplace that has old comics. I wonder what type of $$ is was bringing in back in the 90's. I would believe &75, but who knows. And he is a hot character again (by today's standards)- his new solo book is selling well and there is a lot of buzz on the street about his appearance in the Wolverine movie.
One of the vendors at WonderCon told me that graded versions of Rob's NM issues are popular among collectors at the moment (maybe with all of the 90's nostalgia because of the new X-Force?). And remember, Gideon and Domino also appeared in NM #98.

I bought all of the Jim Lee Uncanny issues (except for #266, #248 and the extinction agenda issues) for less than a dollar this past weekend- I got a bulk rate because I bought so many books from the $1 bin.

They must have, they were in X-Force together when Sam was leading (remember those dreadful Greg Capallo costumes?). I own the issues but haven't gotten around to reading them yet- maybe after I finish reading my New Mutant issues (btw, I'm 13 issues away now... #16, #98 and #99 are still too expensive for me- none of the vendors at WonderCon would give me #98 for anything less than $75: I'm glad none of their copies sold  ).
Well, that shows Liefeld still rocks.

AWWWWW! I'm thrilled you found it but at the same time, I was just about to post it too! Oh crumbs!
I'm so excited though! I'm going to hit my LCS today if I have time before work to look for it!!! Yay!!!
Mwahaha! I win!
Ooh, you don't have X-Men and Alpha Flight? totally worth it. Illyana's only in the first issue, but get both! The entire Asgardian Saga is one of my favorite stories ever.
Is it Comicvine that lists the character by appearence.
I do have one copy of 'Marvel Tales' or something like that where Magik and Warlock track down a rogue limbo demon with help from Power Pack. Perhaps its another one of those 'guest star' comics.
None of those lists on various sites are entirely complete, though--find one on a different site, and there's bound to be some different comics the first one missed.
And that's Marvel Fanfare #55, with Colleen Doran art.

You sure? I have a double of X-M/AF #2. You can have it for less than the price of a copy of NM #98! ;)
I've been keeping my fingers crossed that collection gets a reprint as a classic premiere hardcover. I have all the originals, but it's one of the few stories I'd buy a HC for as well.

Exactly.
Or because he works better has a supporting character/villian and not as an actual team character. However if written well I'm definitely game.

I just sifted through the summaries for the old New Mutants issues that Legion was involved in...and from the summaries I've read, it seems the only New Mutants that interacted with Legion were: Cypher, Mirage, Warlock, and Wolfsbane. Seeing as how Cypher and Warlock are not members of the reformed team roster....and Wolfsbane is not a member either....I guess Dani is the only person who has had first-hand experience in Legion's presence??
Can anyone out there verify this?

The entire team fights him in one really generic filler issue. I don't think he's really a villain.

If I remember correctly...
There was one issue where they all met Legion in Scotland, including Magma, Cannonball, Magik and Karma.
The Jack personality takes over and Magik takes him to Limbo scares him back into his mindcage.

Forget the number....the front cover has Legion with his arms raised, Wolfsbane on the ground, fire behind them.
There is a funny scene with Magik, her demons, and Dani. i hope we get some demon interaction in this new series.
"Sure thing, boss!"
Illyana does teleport Legion to Limbo. i remember it...quite an interesting scene :)
Roberto and Illyana also have some conflict..him and his issues with her demon side...it wraps up at the end in a very interesting way.

I'm so jazzed to see how they'll be involved in the upcoming Messiah War!!
I mean, Zeb said that following the relatively contained storyline with Legion that the gang would then be 'immersed' in the X-world's goings on.
And that is, I assume, the next big X-event.

Won't we be in the middle of MW, when the New Mutants series starts?
And then I don't think issue 1 will be a crossover tie in, so I think they're going to miss out on this event.

Well...I'm relatively certain that the Messiah War will be primarily focused upon in X-Force and Cable. This much we know.
But...what about the other X-books? I mean, what do we suppose the rest of the X-Men will be doing during this? Will there be some OTHER crisis going on? Maybe that whole ban on former mutants procreating or some such thing?
I guess my enthusiasm levels are too high for this title. I mean, I know they'll be taking on Legion first..but I just can't wait to find out what is next for our guys!

I believe a large part of the Messiah War X-over will be taking place in the future (and as I type this, I realize that Illyana could bring the team there, but still). Don't think the Mutants will be involved.
I hope there will be tight continuity as in consistency between New Mutants and the other titles, but the more I think about it, the more I hope that the Mutants get some distance from the rest of the X-army, with their own base and everything. If Cyclops is constantly looking over their shoulders, the naysayers who think the Mutants are a junior team will never get over it.

Yes. As far as interaction with the rest of the X-world, I'd like it to be kind of limited. You know? I'm just dying to learn how they'll go about operating!!And I didn't even think about where they would be based. Gosh. Will they stay on the coast? Or move out into other territories? I can't wait!

Wherever they go, I hope the team gets an actual home--what we've seen so far in San Fransisco is a more base than home. Remember the times the Mutants all watched TV together? (Magnum PI, of course.) Or when Sam stormed into Dani's room while she was still getting dressed? (And he was mortified and she kept teasing him.) They should all just get a big apartment together so that we can get those kinds of scenes.

Oh lord. ha ha ha.
I just hope they don't wind up like 'FRIENDS' or something.
Those wacky 20 somethings living in New York. Roberto and Sam living across the hall from Dani and Amara, with frequent visits from across the street from their shared one bedroom by Karma and her lil' brother and sister. ha ha ha.
Illyana poping in unannouned with notifications of impending doom!
Cued audience laughter.
