I understand that to make it in the commercial design world you need to have a mac computer. Does this apply to comic book companies as well? Do you need to send your scanned, pencilled and/or inked pages using mac computers/software? What about coloring?

I know some publishers who use Macs and some don't.
As long as the file format is a standard one, tif for example., you don't have to worry too much about Mac vs. PC.

This may have been true 10-15 years ago, but nowadays all the major art and design programs are available on either platform, and files created on one can be opened by the other. I've worked at studios that used either one or both.

Macs have traditionally been nicer for programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator and other major art programs, but they'll work just fine on a Windows PC. There's no standard, mandatory platform, since the files are interchangeable.
